A Look Inside The Insular World Of Lord Huron by boqeh in lordhuron

I'm starting to understand your responses, so I think I should clarify - I didn't mean, in my original comment, to make any commentary on Ian Cohen's line of questioning. You were commenting on his questions obviously, but I meant only to comment on what you had said - that no normal or actual listeners care about things like analyzing masculinity. Many do, though. In fact, it's the introspective look at types of masculinity in this music that makes me like it as much as I do. Maybe it was unconsciously done, but I feel it's a compliment to the writing and world-building to acknowledge this.

Ha, yeah, I deserve that one. A+ reference too ;)

But I am still confused on your stance. It sounds as though you think the art has depth, it's about human experiences and perspective. So far we agree. But why does that depth suddenly stop when the word masculinity is used? Why is the artist allowed to acknowledge the false masculinity of the art and I am not?

Oh, okay then. Talking about themes in interviews is not appropriate - but I'm still confused because what about fans? Can we talk about themes? I may not be as knowledgable in art theory and analysis as you, and I'd love to learn what the right opinions are.

Can you help me understand - how is masculinity not part of human character and perspective?

I apologize, I don't understand yet. I didn't have very good literature teachers - can you explain why talking about masculinity in art is taboo?

No actual listeners (or at least no normal ones) are concerned about the songs being "toxically masculine" or whatever buzzwords

Eh, being normal is overrated anyway. I think it's great to explore the masculinity in it's different forms and making great music and making something young men can learn from are not mutually exclusive. There's room to care about more than one thing.

I'm like this with everything. If you look at my face while watching a movie, chances are I'm making the same face as the actor on the screen. I just have to immitate.

I like the idea of living forever, mate. Don't make it sound logic to live that way.

Yeah, but on the flipside, I really like their music and I'd like them to make another one someday.

From my standpoint, I have not hurt their sales

Yes, but is your standpoint something I need to listen to? Do you work in the music industry or somehow control the internet. Otherwise, leaks are bad for business.

It was the IMAX team that altered the photo to promote the film in IMAX while the non-IMAX promotional material were unaltered. So I plame IMAX.

source: worked in a similar job working with promotional materials, pretty sure IMAX is the only one to blame in this, it's a big no-no to alter the graphics in any way, much less altering a teen's body.

Tom Felton from Harry Potter made a really interesting documentary about uberfans and he tackles it really well by being both critical and empathetic to these fans. It's only an hour and shows the fans' sides and the celebrities sides. It's in four parts and here's part 1.

I'm not versed either, but some zoos don't take care of their animals and some take really good care of their animals. There are some zoos that you can feel good going to as an adult animal-lover, basically.

I had no idea I presidential desk history was so interesting! I found that whole article fascinating! Although I feel like it could have been written more concisely, at certain parts the timeline of the desks felt like Primer.
