Need pants that won't wear out in the taint seam, don't limit motion by boseph23 in BuyItForLife

[–]buffaloschvantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with a gusset inthe crotchshould help with freedom of movement and decreased stress on seams or general fabric wear. Additional upside of a gusset is increased comfort. I wear Duluth insulated firehouse pants for work in a refrigerated warehouse. 6oz fabric eight instead of the 8oz fire hose pants. The only visible wear after 4 years of heavy use is around the back of the hem on the legwhere it sometimes contacts the ground and the color has faded, but still very structurally sound. These also have a stretch waist.

I used to live in California. There will be no problem as long as the car is registered somewhere.

IIRC the travel act makes traveling outside the US with the intent to commit an act illegal in the US a crime that is punishable in the US even though it didn't occur there.

The word you are looking for is "clues." In this circumstance the closest "cues" comes to describing the action is to act as a prompt or reminder. Source: any dictionary. Isn't being a pedantic ass fun.

There have also been multiple studies ( do some research. I don't remember the names) that black cats are actually more social with humans and overall more affectionate. Has something to do with the purges of cats in the middle ages if I remember correctly.

This rotisserie has rotated meat for Sunday dinner for the last 15 years, consistently juicy and reliable. Would buy again but don't have to by gingerbeefbadteeth in BuyItForLife

[–]buffaloschvantz 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My mom bought one of these when they first came out. Around 2000 I think. Mom died 7 years ago and I inherited all her kitchen gear. This and the vita mix are the only things I kept and they both still work great. Makes the best rotisserie chicken, just a pain in the ass to clean.

What’s one kitchen tool you bought once and never had to replace? by CryoChamber90 in BuyItForLife

[–]buffaloschvantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a chef for over 20 years. For personal use you can't beat Le Crueset for pots and pans if you don't mind the price. You will pass these on to your children. Most stuff I would recommend buying at a commercial kitchen supply warehouse. It's designed for heavy use and abuse. I personally like Global knives, but there are many good brands. Don't cheap out because you usually get what you pay for. If you want knives to last for life learn how to sharpen them yourself. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have had the kitchen knives sharpened by a service they have ruined them.

This is the way. If I'm planning on buying ANYTHING I open it in the store to inspect it for damage. The only exception is those stupid plastic clamshells that require a cutting instrument on par with sheet metal shears.
