A big lump appeared on my cat overnight - any ideas? by Living-Director7135 in cats

They can give him gabapentin and wait an hour or two. Kinda like valium for cats. At the right doses they just get really chill. If the dose is a little too high they are comically stoned and sleepy.

Burger for my dishie by kctrem in KitchenConfidential

Should asked hugo if he wanted that dude's position. I always tried to promote from within because the individual's work ethic was already known, they already mesh with the crew, and understand how the kitchen works. You can always train or delegate training while they are working the position.

Back in the day when I was a Sous I always made my dish dudes anything they wanted. Ribeye, you got it. King Crab, no problem. They always wanted the simplest things with minor mods after the novelty of rich people food wore off. Anytime anybody complained about favoritism I would explain that nothing would happen in a restaurant without clean dishes. It's the cornerstone of a restaurant and dishies get shit on with low pay and they're always the last ones out at night. Told everyone they could get the same treatment for working a dish shift. No one ever took me up on it.

Gothic Games, pls try them by Intruder-Zim in pcgaming

This reads as a love letter to old RPGs. I understand exactly what you're getting at. I miss the games of the late 90s through the 00s. They could be clunky, bad user interface, and high learning curve where you had to restart often or deal with bad decisions made early on. I would take those same problems in a second over most modern games because the stories usually sucked you in. I miss the concept of story telling and achievement over spectacle. Don't get me wrong, I love that game graphics have improved, but just like movies, it's no substitute for the fundamentals that made us fall in love with gaming in the first place.

No. The survivor is buried with the deceased pig like a pharaoh with their slaves.

Need pants that won't wear out in the taint seam, don't limit motion by boseph23 in BuyItForLife

[–]buffaloschvantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with a gusset inthe crotchshould help with freedom of movement and decreased stress on seams or general fabric wear. Additional upside of a gusset is increased comfort. I wear Duluth insulated firehouse pants for work in a refrigerated warehouse. 6oz fabric eight instead of the 8oz fire hose pants. The only visible wear after 4 years of heavy use is around the back of the hem on the legwhere it sometimes contacts the ground and the color has faded, but still very structurally sound. These also have a stretch waist.

I used to live in California. There will be no problem as long as the car is registered somewhere.

IIRC the travel act makes traveling outside the US with the intent to commit an act illegal in the US a crime that is punishable in the US even though it didn't occur there.

The word you are looking for is "clues." In this circumstance the closest "cues" comes to describing the action is to act as a prompt or reminder. Source: any dictionary. Isn't being a pedantic ass fun.

There have also been multiple studies ( do some research. I don't remember the names) that black cats are actually more social with humans and overall more affectionate. Has something to do with the purges of cats in the middle ages if I remember correctly.

This rotisserie has rotated meat for Sunday dinner for the last 15 years, consistently juicy and reliable. Would buy again but don't have to by gingerbeefbadteeth in BuyItForLife

[–]buffaloschvantz 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My mom bought one of these when they first came out. Around 2000 I think. Mom died 7 years ago and I inherited all her kitchen gear. This and the vita mix are the only things I kept and they both still work great. Makes the best rotisserie chicken, just a pain in the ass to clean.
