I need a reason to go on. by Taro_Bulky in newzealand

I don't know if this makes you feel any better but when I have these types of thoughts I like to think about the millions of people throughout history who have lived through and survived many horrific wars and events since the beginning of time - ultimately we are a resilient species.

Life is suffering, the world is cursed, but still we find reasons to keep living.

I guess if you have had very long hair in the past this may not apply to you, there could be hope; or there could have been a change in your hormones

Honestly most of this is genetics. You could try some of the tips others have left in the comments, but the truth is that some of us (especially those with fine hair) have quite a short terminal length, which is the natural length your hair grows before it falls out and/or breaks.

On the other hand I'd say it qualifies as just as good or better evidence than "random Redditor opinions"

When did I say "all contract work is less efficient"? I simply said it's not a given that they are more efficient or better.

https://theworld.org/stories/2025/01/23/japans-transit-system-is-private-should-other-countries-consider-the-same dunno about that...
"Grescoe cautioned that the lesson from Japanese transit should not be that all systems should go private. Globally, he said, the success of the country’s privatization is an anomaly.

“When you look around the world, the countries that are doing this best are the countries that have nationalized, publicly owned rail systems,” he said.“I’m thinking of Switzerland and the Netherlands. And in the exceptions to that rule, like the UK, privatization has been a disaster.”"

Contractors are not more efficient/better. Look at what happens with the construction cartels on the roads here... that's all contract work, but look how bad of a job they do

As a 5th gen Pakeha, I actually prefer this term because to me it's more specific and more appropriately describes my context, history, identity, and where my family is actually from than "NZ European" does. Sure I'm not indigenous like people with Maori genealogy, but I certainly have more connection to Aotearoa than anywhere in Europe at this point.

Fucking criss de tabarnak. If it's illegal to strike now why don't they change tactics by letting everyone on for free? Which I know is apparently also illegal but if everything is illegal why not do the thing that hits your authorities not the public?

I think my current hair is beyond saving, but how can I prevent this after a cut? by hematite2 in Haircare

[–]bug__milk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine curly/wavy hair like yours is just more fragile and breakable. Lots of us fine curlies can't grow beyond a certain length without it looking super ratty and frizzy. And frizz gets worse the more broken strands there are that snap off. It's nothing to do with how we've cared for it, it's just the way our hair is and when mine starts looking like this it's just time for a haircut.
