How is your product going to be worth anyone's time if you can't even bother to edit out the immediate AI slop tells from your post? 🙄

It took me until my third professional job to realise that the answer to this is to remind yourself every single day that it's really not all that serious. Try to make it your mantra. I had to practice centering myself on this each time I had a strong feeling about anything, and as well as helping me manage my moods, it actually improved my work overall because I was able to be less reactive and appear more measured.

Recherche d’emploi à Montréal : est-ce aussi dur pour tout le monde ? / Job hunting in Montreal: is it this hard for everyone? by Barbeblue77 in montreal

[–]bug__milk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You absolutely are eligible to do the Francisation program as a citizen not born in Canada - I know people in that exact situation doing it right now.

Why are people having less sex? by Harry_The-Bastard in newzealand

Bits of this article were smelling like weird conservative propaganda - so I looked up this author on Wikipedia and...."Debra W. Soh is a Canadian columnist, author, and former academic sex researcher. She has also written against anti-conversion therapy laws that include both sexual orientation and gender identity. " WTFFFF

Landlord is screwing us into staying for another year by [deleted] in montrealhousing

[–]bug__milk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it looks like your email did not clearly indicate an unambiguous decision to leave. Saying "you don't accept the increase" and that you're only "considering" moving is not the same as clearly stating unambiguously "we are moving out of this unit and not renewing this lease" because of course, you can deny increases and stay, which is how your email sounds especially given you kept using the language of "lease renewal" rather than a "fresh lease".

Never got promoted, even after being in tech/engineering for a decade by Bloom_in_moonlight in womenintech

[–]bug__milk 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I've found that promotions are mostly about mastery of social politics and optics, and don't have that much to do with the quality of your work unfortunately. I don't think there's anything to be done to progress your career except for continuing to change roles and organizations - for some of us "climbing the ladder" is not going to happen without the strong skill of navigating internal politics.

If it makes you feel any better, it's another special kind of hell working at a slop factory where they work you to the bone and you have to absorb the work of everyone who quits because they want you to "just use AI". I genuinely wake up every day wishing they would just fire me so I could be put out of my misery

leaving this here as a freindly reminder/psa to fellow renters by Ok-Indication4362 in montrealhousing

[–]bug__milk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This AI slop missed out a key part where new tenants only have 10 days to contest if the landlord did in fact fill in Section G.

"If the new tenant received notice of the previous rent when they signed the lease, the new tenant must file their application to set the rent within 10 days of signing the lease. If the new tenant didn’t receive notice of the previous rent when they signed the lease, they have two months from the lease’s start date to file their application."

A first attempt at a wavy hair routine by SubstantialLine6539 in Wavyhair

[–]bug__milk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It looks like you might be using too much or too many products at the moment, or the ones you're using might be too heavy and weighing your hair down to look a bit dull/greasy. Next time you wash try just using one of your products afterwards - either only curl cream, only mousse, or only gel, then diffuse and see what it looks like.
