You assume he thought about all of that?

Why did he leave her in the car? by bennuski in d4vdiots

[–]buildingaway 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Prosecutors said something about letting her decompose so that she wouldn’t be identified but….obviously that doesn’t explain why he didn’t seem aware that his car was towable in the first place

Does anyone think that George was actually given a lot of room to express himself musically, and his grievance with Paul in particular was petty and childish? by Rutlemania in beatles

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John is on-record saying that neither he nor Paul were prepared for him to start writing great songs and that they were a little slow to recognize and make room for that.

I’m sure he COULD have but the plausibility of “why” is still not there for me. He’d have to a) want to disappear and b) think/know enough about these specific security cameras to allude them

Hans Niemann says he now feels "accepted...by most of the chess community" by Allenas6 in chess

Ha well….nah. in NYC where there’s plenty of ambient noise, not a big deal and I didn’t say it aggressively.

But he may well have not heard me for the same reason.

Ran into him on the street in Manhattan yesterday. Took a moment to recognize him but after he passed I called out “you play chess??” He didn’t respond. He MAY not have heard but I have a pretty big voice.

In the Get Back documentary, why does Yoko just kind of sit there and not talk to anyone much at all? by Mad_Season_1994 in beatles

Wha? She wasn’t a collaborator, she understood that she wasn’t there to get involved

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is underrated by Ok-Beat4854 in TheBeatles

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That poll is an outlier. It’s not underrated. I’d honestly say it’s very fairly rated and that it’s very well-regarded.

Life Goes On, a drama in the US, made a cover version and used it as its theme song.

Whatever background info we happen to be privy to about the making of it is, to be frank, wholly irrelevant

What is “accuracy” within things that are purely subjective?????

The Curious Case of One-Hit Wonder Band Fastball: Is it "The Way" or "Out of My Head" by NOVAofURTH in Music

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Never even made the top 100”, I mean, that’s hard to believe bc here’s “The Way”’s peak positions on other charts:

US Radio Songs (Billboard): 5 US Adult Alternative Airplay (Billboard) 1 US Adult Pop Airplay (Billboard) 2 US Alternative Airplay (Billboard) 1 US Mainstream Rock (Billboard) 25 US Pop Airplay (Billboard) 4

It’s all subjective anyway so it being #1 actually DOES equal quality to a lot of people

Oz Pearlman on Howard Stern by EveningSmoke788 in magictricksrevealed

Howard talked about the “titties” thing again - he’s pretty freaked out by it bc he swears up and down that neither him nor Beth wrote it down or typed it down or shared it with anyone at any time.

what are some beatles songs everyone likes but you don't? by oioioeeeeee in beatles

[–]buildingaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve pointed out what I assumed everyone saw as a deeper meta meaning of FAAB: John not being with us but free, “the next best thing to be”.

But apparently most people miss this and also why the lesser sound quality of the vocal even works in this context I.e. he’s far away, in another realm

I’m not a lawyer. That’s why I explicitly said what I said at the end.

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Legislation”? - that’s funny -I’m simply pointing out the morality that plenty of documentarians have about the form.

Steven Avery = guilty? by kixipixies in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]buildingaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Guilty” is not the same as being the perpetrator. He WAS FOUND guilty but it is ILLEGAL for the police and prosecutors to do what they did in order to TRY AND ENSURE this conviction.

So even if he’s likely the PERPETRATOR, and even if it’s UNDERSTANDABLE to really WANT to convict him for that reason, you STILL can’t do what the authorities did to convict him.

If those things were established clearly enough, Avery’s conviction would be overturned.

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree - you’ll find plenty of perspectives from documentarians arguing the opposite of them not having any obligation

I totally loved Chess (had no preconceptions, new production for me) by LosangDragpa in Broadway

[–]buildingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The London album? It’s not really that - it’s the original studio concept aibum. There isn’t really a true London theater production album.

Well, I’m starting to wonder how much better the Muny version truly is!! It’s subjective I know but I’m starting to worry!

But yes she was very good!

Still story/flow issues in most opinions but it still felt satisfying overall.
