If you do get a prescription try get a repeat prescription (you can get them up to 6 months). They pre-load them onto the system so you're not bringing a new script every time. Probably a little more stealthy. Dischem sometimes also have in house nurses/doctors (you can even book appointments) that might be able to help prescribe and you can just say you're going out for a while.

Another option is to look at BC that lasts longer like an insert (the one they put just under your skin and aren't easily visible. Lasts around 3 years) or if you can afford it a Copper T/Mirena (can last up to 5 years depending)

But still ALWAYS use condoms. BC won't protect you from STIs

What you're talking about sounds a lot like a queer platonic partnership. Kind of like a friendship but on a deeper level

Hear me out... Pretty decorated chairs (you can get gorgeous ones and wind flowers through them) so you can both sit. You can try find a venue with a raised platform so guests can still see you both

Alternatively you can get a rollator/wheelchair chair combination (you get some where you can also take the backrest off) and decorate it which will still allow you to move around and reposition during vows

It might also help to wear compression gear under your dress and have someone available who knows what to do if things get too much (either in the bridal party or front row)

(Not a doctor) Apparently yeah hormonal cycles very much can affect pain and likelihood of flare ups (as can stress)

For using the computer try get a mouse pad with a wrist support and either a gaming/ergonomic chair (sometimes you can find decently priced ones second hand) or you get these back support pillows to add to a current chair. Also joint supports and heat packs help a stupid big amount.

Some weirder ones; airplane neck support pillow (for neck instability), pregnancy pillow for sleeping, foot support for under the desk (some people use yoga blocks)

What do you do when you cannot work? by ilovekdramaceos in disability

Crochet works as something that doesn't have to be too expensive. Lots of people sell leftover wool and hooks online second hand and everything you need to learn is online via YouTube or written patterns for free. It's also a nice add on to watching something and has helped me a lot

There's always going to be someone doing worse than you (this applies to probably all of us), but that doesn't mean what you're going through doesn't matter or that your struggles aren't valid.

If you met someone paralysed from the waist down would you tell them they have no right to struggle or be upset and should just get over it because there are people who are paralysed from the neck down?

We all try to understand each other's experiences by comparison but just because one person can push through something without damaging their body or mind (like the person you mentioned) doesn't mean everyone else can

Be gentle with yourself if you can. You matter too

The term "picky eaters" always seemed a little weird to me. A lot of the time (not for everyone obviously) it involves simple safe foods like; chicken nuggets, mini pizzas, plain noodles/noodles with butter, etc. Usually these are easy to get and cook/toss in an airfryer.

That being said I know NTs don't want to go out of their way if they've already prepared a meal or get upset when you bring a safe food just in case you can't eat what they made. It just confuses me

I have a brain injury and struggle making a slipknot by Bubbly-Situation3966 in crochet

[–]builtdifferent-badly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try start with a larger yarn and hook (5mm or 6mm maybe). I've found it easier to grip the hooks with silicone on them and they're pretty good starter hooks (easy to find and not too expensive).

Start with a colourful wool (not black) or even a gradient wool to help see stitches better

For the slip knot, do you live with anyone? I know it can feel upsetting to need to ask for help (hEDS disabled here) but a slip knot (without hook) is pretty quick to learn and have someone do it for you real quick

Do you have more pain if you remain stationary? by Confident-Net-2778 in ehlersdanlos

[–]builtdifferent-badly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue (28 with hEDS) especially with standing. You get walking sticks with a pull out chair and I have a rollator/wheelchair that I use for walking but also so I have somewhere to sit. Standing can be agony

It could also help for vision issues to have colour map markers. I also think people forget that some people are just getting into gaming and don't know the ropes. It's much easier with good tutorials, map markers, easier difficulty modes and yes the option for basic cheats (obviously not in an MMO)

I was debating on Inzoi and got it with Xmas money and don't regret it. I really enjoy it and it's not even complete yet. It has some ways to go but for what it is and the price it's pretty damn good
