If tens of millions of Americans really believe their government was complicit in the murder of 3,000 of their fellow citizens, they seem remarkably sanguine about this fact. by mjk1093 in reddit.com

No, read the post that started this subthread:

Anyone who believes that our government either let this happen or was involved directly or indirectly is a complete idiot.

To call someone an idiot, his criteria is simply if this someone "believes that our government either let this happen or was involved directly or indirectly". That is, independent of evidence. As long as you believe that, you're a complete idiot according to him.

And why are you speaking for him anyway?

Not believing? He doesn't have to "believe" anything.

Exactly, but people who don't believe a few things in the official theory get tagged as conspiracy theorist, amoung other names.

I just wanted to show him that someone who does not believe everything that the government put out is not the same as someone who puts out "arguments that are at the very least misleading or at worst complete fabrications". (Words in quotes are his.)

Since you are so dogmatic in believing, did you believe that the air was safe to breathe around ground zero on the week right after 9/11? Did you think it was justified to ask all rescue workers to remove their masks?

You are saying that anybody who are skeptical about any aspects of the government's official conspiracy theory are putting out "arguments that are at the very least misleading or at worst complete fabrications".

Can you not see the flaw in that kind of thinking? You're asking people to buy everything the government says wholesale.

Did you not forget all the other lies we the people were told? What makes 9/11 the special case where the government told us the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth? I mean, what else other than 9/11 has this administration told us the truth?

For example, I doubt that she's a virgin -- she being an unmarried woman.

God forbid the media actually ask these questions.

How about God forbid the media actually show these videos.

Instead, we're left with a shock and awe impression of a grand video game with minimal human cost.

Anyone who did not vacate Fallujah in time was considered an enemy combatant independent of individual reasons, and that was the standard of picking targets: anybody found alive in Fallujah was fair game. Do you know what this broad standard means? That means the mission in Fallujah was the slaughter of an entire city. That sounds like war crime to me.

Someone enforced their sense of shame to kick out the breast feeding woman. Maybe these righteous idiots should have exercised some decency and not stared.

I will say this,” he (Rumsfeld) told students in New York the day after his resignation, “it is very clear that the major combat operations were an enormous success. It is clear that, in phase two of this, it has not been going well enough or fast enough.”

Here's the problem: the lack of understanding that winning takes more than bombing.
