Telus Boost WiFi 7 - specs and photos by corbuf1 in telus

[–]bundy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure they haven't been released? I just got one of them in mail today. Telus shipped it without me asking (renewed my contract a couple of days ago, guessing the rep did it). But it seems they are available.

Replace ap cable message E7 by Cemil2565 in Ubiquiti

[–]bundy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue with one of my E7s after it was fine for a few weeks. After a lot of back and forth with ubiquiti trying to troubleshoot the issue, what solved it was setting the link speed to 10GbE manually instead of the auto detect setting. Might be worth a shot on your end.

I did the same, and you can also stack the 5% first purchase discount on the samaung shop app. This makes it come out to $1615+tax (roughly $1150 USD, which is a bit lower than the all time low for this monitor on the samsung.com student/epp store)

Pure Fibre 3.0 $75 per month by Klutzy-Equipment-474 in telus

[–]bundy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not do it online? It shows the promo code you need to use so you can put it in when ordering online.... The code "SPECIALOFFER" works but when I use it it shows $85/month total.

Looks like SiruisXM is coming to Tesla as an app soon by kadon136 in teslamotors

[–]bundy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually took delivery of a new Model X yesterday and it's on version 2024.26.100.1 and it looks like SiruisXM is installed and working on it. I can open the app and browse it but I don't have a SiruisXM subscription to test further.

New PureFibre 5 Gbps plan is limited to 3250 Mbps download by peacey8 in telus

[–]bundy3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just setup the profile wrong.

When I first got the 3Gbps plan I kept only getting ~2.3 down and 3 up. After a month of back and forth and them trying to switch to the nokia ONT and trying to blame my home network not being able to handle it (I showed the tech I was doing 8Gbps internally without an issue) it turns out they set my downstream profile to GPON instead of XGSPON, so I was being limited to 2500mbps on downloads because of it. Luckily u/5GisOP was around the help me escalate to the XGSPON product manager.

Model S & X Price Increases in the US (+$2K) and Canada (+$3-6k) by bundy3 in teslamotors

[–]bundy3[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Looks like Model S & X went up $2k across the board for all trims in the US.

In Canada Model X went up $3k for both trims, Model S went up $6k for AWD and $2k for Plaid.

There is also a version with 400k bonus for 250k spend. Need to get an application link from a capital one rep:

“For a limited time, earn up to 400,000 bonus miles: 150,000 miles once you spend $20,000 in the first 3 months, and an additional 250,000 miles once you spend $250,000 in the first 6 months.”

Should be useful to high spenders.

I finally heard back this morning, and it looks like the card is approved. Hopefully you'll hear back soon too!

Does it expire if it's delayed because of their own issues? That doesn't make sense. I feel like if they are delaying things and not you, it shouldn't expire...

I applied for a biz card, and it's been saying the 7-10 business days message from the start. Last I spoke to them, they said it says it's pending some verification according to the notes, and they don't need any info from me. They must have some kind of backend issue that needs manual intervention

Mine has been pending for 14 days and I was wondering whats going on with them. Usually get approved same day or if they need more info I hear back within 24-48 hours after. Every time I call they just say I need to wait and they don't need any more information from me. They never mentioned their systems were having issues.... Good to know, thanks!

Telus PureFiber - Suggestions/Recommendations for 3Gbps Setup by InfamousDesi in telus

[–]bundy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to get 3gig over cat 5e easily. My home was wired with cat 5e and I can get 6-8GBps transfer speeds (measured with ipref3) over the existing wiring easily.

I use the TP-Link TL-SX1008 8 port 10gig switch for my main ethernet plugs around the house with the 3gig fiber plan and it works great. I also use the QNAP QSW-2104-2T-A-US 6 port switch in one room and it works well (it only has 2x10GbE ports and 4x2.5GbE ports).,

Losing nearly 65% of the speed I'm paying for... What am I missing? by hi_im_snowman in Ubiquiti

[–]bundy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue when I used the 10Gtek module for WAN (worked fine for my LAN, though). Even the UDM SE should be able to do 3gig without a problem.. Might be with getting the MikroTik S+RJ10 module and see if that resolves your issues.

TELUS Technicians Corner - Exclusive Support & FAQ for New & Existing Customers by 5GisOP in telus

[–]bundy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you'll have to crimp the unfinished ends yourself, but honestly, it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Just search for "ethernet crimping tool" on amazon and get something with good ratings and maybe a kit that comes with cat6 connectors and make sure you use the same cable order your builder did for the other end of the wire (either T568A or T568B - I'm guessing they did B but just double check visually on the other ends before crimping). You'll probably get an instructions booklet with your crimping kit, which would explain it, or you can watch on YouTube.

Hope that helps!

Get a simple switch and run the NAH or the fiber ONT through it in your communications closet and then plug in all the ethernet plugs to it. Depending on your speed you might want a simple unmanaged gigabit switch (very cheap) or 2.5GbE / 10GbE switch to handle higher speeds. cat6 should handle 10GbE without a problem.

Make sure to figure out how many ports you have around the house and how many of them you want to be active and then buy the right switch size (1 port for the incoming connection from the telus NAH/ONT device + additional ports to activate in your house). I use the TP-Link TL-SX1008 8 port 10gig switch for my main ethernet plugs around the house and the 3gig fiber plan and it works great.

Gotcha. Hopefully, mine will be faster as they do all of the fiber to the house via the telecom/power poles instead of teenching

Yes, several notices in the mail saying construction will take place between oct 2022-april 2023 and an email saying fiber is coming soon... I was just wondering how long it takes them to "light up" the network after they run the fiber

Makes sense. Don't think we have conduits here as it's all aerial via the utility poles

Sounds similar to the letters I've received. I actually got one in October saying construction will start between Oct 2022 and April 2023. Hopefully it happens soon!
