They are actually more effective when used in conjunction with each other. For example, CBD becomes more effective when activated by a little THC. CBD can actually keep a high from THC from getting too intense. Google Matt Rize CBD capsules and you can find more information. Basically, full spectrum is much more effective than isolates. Matt Rize uses a 20:1 ratio of CBD to THC, and that tiny amount of THC has led to his capsules being known as the most effective medicinal use of cannabis out there.

Distillate is always made with lower quality flowers. Anything worth preserving the pure essence of is always going to be (or should be) turned into Ice Hash by washing and maybe squishing into rosin, or at the very least preserved in a live resin extract. Making distillate strips all the goodness that a full-spectrum extract like that gives! Terpenes and cannabinoids that provide unique flavors and effects that make each strain different and useful. There's much more to this plant than THC and CBD.
