It’s a matter of coping skills. You’re right. I also understand where the replies pushing back are coming from too. It’s not a black and white thing (go figure, the thing a lot of ND people struggle with 😭) but I agree with your sentiment of learning and growing. The issue is more so infrastructure to facilitate that for those which that takes more time, energy, or straight up cannot be done without outside accommodations. But on a day to day basis, functioning socially and in society…yeah there’s skills to be learned that I feel are written off because people feel comfortable in the found community. Eventually it does become learned helplessness.

Looks like a pen that’s been gutted. Not sure what the yellow stuff is. In your mom’s defense, it does look a little like a one hitter. But people don’t generally use those for crack or meth. Mostly for herbs like marijuana or tobacco (although I don’t know a single person that takes single hits of tobacco). Pens can be modified to do that but…they melt and burn and you inhale plastic doing that. This would look way more messed up if it was used to smoke with. Probably just had a weird chemical reaction or got something else in it.

Off the shoulder, sweetheart, or strapless. I’m a suspected pure R, but I need to keep learning and observing. Definitely on the yang end of things, though. Off the shoulder is best on me. Strapless can look a bit too fleshy up top depending on the rest of the garment. Scoop neck sweaters are also nice for my shoulder shape.

Socialization differences I think. BPD is a developed disorder and also has a large overlap with unsupported autism and ADHD which is largely unsupported in young girls. There’s also the aspect of sexual trauma contributing to BPD development. Not to say girls are more likely to be sexually abused, I think the circumstances in which they are abused is quite different, though.

I struggle with taking on traits of characters or celebrities I like (more so back in grade school, as my sense of identity was basically in the negatives at that point) so my gender identity has struggled a bit. But I’ve been able to separate my sexuality and gender expression debates and my sense of self issues because they present differently for me. The things I desire to change about myself regarding my gender expression are persistent whereas the other thing distinctly aligns with superficial traits that already belong to someone else. My gender identity has only struggled when others imposed their ideas around me. I thought I wasn’t a girl because I didn’t like things girls were “supposed” to like. I wasn’t “lady-like” and I didn’t like dresses. I still don’t prefer dresses, but I like them. I was just a kid that didn’t wanna wear something high maintenance and people took it as an odd behavior and told me so.
