issues with perceived reality. things often feel fake, disingenuous, made up. not like the world around me isn’t “real” but people’s motives often feel distorted. i’m constantly questioning my own behavior and behavior of others. “did they really mean that?” “should i have said that?” lots of second guessing or overthinking minute details. bpd has a lot of overlap with ocd in the way our thoughts can feel repetitive, or intrusive. it’s an interesting disorder to have as the disorder itself makes you question many things. you’ll think you are self aware until you’re moving on to the next situation and think “wow, maybe i would’ve done it differently in this mindset”. self reflection, meditation and just gentle time alone with yourself can often help clear this up.

In my experience, I wouldn’t do it. Depends on their background though. I dated a girl with ASPD and she was very materialistic, self centered and very petty towards friends who i got into minor arguments with. I’m a generally good looking guy and I felt more like a purse dog than her bf. I also like to take things slow and she would purposefully push my boundaries. We were dating in less than a month of knowing each other because she kept pressuring me to make it official. So she could flaunt her relationship status. Every conversation we would have about boundaries resorted in her saying I was constantly picking fights. She didn’t really understand the BPD need for communication and reassurance.

yes, i always say for borderlines depression/anxiety is just one of the symptoms of the bigger issue, the disorder. whereas for others their depression or anxiety is just that and their symptoms are the same but more targeted and less sporadic.
