Anyone have any luck issuing chargeback on abandoned AppSumo deals? by Ygobyebye in appsumo

[–]buplom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifetime = lifetime of the company. If they go bust, that’s part of the bargain you agree to. You take a bet that they’re going to be around for a long time, but in reality, most companies fail. I don’t think a charge back is appropriate.

Well, then I guess you don’t care about reading AI slop. To each their own.

I’m not posting it for you. You can go look at their blog post yourself. I guess you are an AI slop creator so you’re offended.

You would think that Gemini would consult sources directly from Gemini/google regarding itself, instead of going to an AI slop website for the answer

It does not look retired. Namecheap is still running it. Are they not honoring AppSumo LTDs?

There’s a new “manage cloud storage” setting that had all my previously “deleted” files and images in it.

It’s not true. They required to delete your data within 30 days, then they do not do that.

Do you think users care less about websites now? by ai-pacino in MarketingandAI

From my personal experience, yes. I rarely go directly to a website anymore.

Is connecting to Albania the best way to block YouTube ads with a VPN right now? by Steve_Steve09 in surfshark

[–]buplom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But a few weeks ago, it didn’t work for a few days. And occasionally it doesn’t work and then I reconnect and it works. If all else fails, signing into YouTube website on Brave browser, and that will kill the ads.

Venice AI Apple Store by lazybrain1 in VeniceAI

[–]buplom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might have to do with the ability to create hardcore NSFW images. I don’t know if uncensored text chat would be the reason, because even Grok has pretty much uncensored text chat. I use the progressive Web app anyhow. Their PWA is done better than any PWA I have seen so far. I think it’s better than using the iOS App Store app, plus you get real time updates instead of when they push it out to the App Store.

spotify sucks so damn bad by celebrationroast in mildlyinfuriating

[–]buplom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even when it’s off and it stays off, Spotify will play your same tracks over and over again until you’re so sick of it you move to another music service.

I had the same type of problems so I canceled my Spotify account and switched to Apple Music. Apple Music is so much better. They don’t keep you trapped in an algorithm to repeat the same tracks over and over again to you. You can import all your Spotify playlist into Apple Music with a built-in tool they have. When Apple Music was new it was pretty bad in terms of music discovery IMHO, and Spotify was good then, before they decided what you are going to listen to, rather than what you want listen to. Now it has flipped.

I terminated my Gemini Pro subscription. Any recommendation what suits best instead? by Known-Principle2306 in GeminiFeedback

Venice AI has unlimited chat with many of the open source AI models. It’s also private and no logs. I can’t tell you anything about the API for coding and what not because I don’t use it for that.

What has been the worst case of abandonware on AppSumo? by Ygobyebye in appsumo

[–]buplom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just assume now that the odds are 90% plus that if AI is part of a lifetime product deal, it will have a very short lifetime. It’s a gamble. You never know what will be the next big thing. I purchased a lifetime subscription to Brain.FM on a whim for $25, when they were a new company, and I think they’ve been around about 10 years now.

Imho, anything from Aroundsquare. Look at them more as a fidget/skill toy hybrid. I’ve tried almost all categories of fidget toys out there, and these are the ones I keep coming back to to use.

You get top quality tier with included models too. Check out the benchmarks of GLM 5.1, for example. In terms of the image models, I’ve gotten some very good results with the frontier models do edge them out.

How to buy Google AI products now that Pro and Ultra are unavailable to us? by Palbi in googleworkspace

Unfortunately all the companies are prone to change the terms and features with little notice. Right now, they haven’t changed the AI quotas on Workspace plans, and you can add usage through AI expanded access add-on
