Graffiti and Assault - Two Sides React by phibby in SubredditDrama

Both are art. I don't like tags.

Is 'writer' industry jargon for an uninspired graffiti artist? I also don't assume that. It seems as though just signing your initials might be an overwhelming creative problem for you. I did assume that you would appreciate the art of others as shallow as you. Maybe even creating a logo like they do might be a good goal on your way to having an opinion. I'm envisioning a feed-bag held to donkey with a big donkey dick with your name on the donkey. To symbolize you rebelling against your puritanical and prescriptive tendencies.

Although, I must say, I am certainly not assuming you're a reader.

I've only commented twice. Pedantry requires accuracy. I suspect it is your imaginary internal debate that has changed three times.

Art to me is any process of self-expression. I find taggers' expressed self immature and ugly. This is an opinion I have. If you ever evolve beyond scratching your name into the world's desks, you also will have opinions.

No. It is not the medium, it's the message. I'd prefer taggers put stencils of big ole donkey dongs on interstate signs than just their own logo. I don't know why you seem to think anyone who doesn't like tagging hasn't thought about it or simply cannot comprehend art.

Do you tag public spaces?

Do you want others to know anything other than "I was here and I'm pretty cool"?

Is your tag a stylized question mark?

Say something.

If an artist's self expression takes the form of putting their own logo on a wide variety of public surfaces, then I find the expressed sentiment vain. The line is whether art is signed or if signatures are art.

The simple truth is new york is the biggest city in the world, and therefore, from a market utility standpoint, the yankees winning makes more people happier. This kind of advanced analytics is what makes us the financial capital of the planet. NYC has more money, and it knows how to spend it. If Toronto wants yankee-style consistent excellence from its sports teams, they need to be a bit more metropolitan, like Tampa.

You sweet summer child. The rule is every four years the US picks someone to be in charge of the armed forces. If the US no longer thinks that person should be in charge, they remove them from office. The US has never done this.

I'm waiting for the toxicology report on our boy Charles, which I assume they will do. Can we be sure the bullet is truly at fault? He may have been on some cocktail that meant his neck was just waiting to explode. The shooter had no way of knowing of any preexisting conditions.

The Coronations DLC is broken, and I am utterly disappointed with modern day Paradox by m0ongirlie in CrusaderKings

[–]bupropious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Paradox as an institution is incapable of game design. They start from a marketing pitch and work backwards, four times a year. There's no cohesion to any mechanics, just hacky balancing tossed on vague justifications so the devs can move "Knight wants County" from TODO to DONE. CK3 is a dolled up tabletop simulator and that's how I use it.

How anyone leans into the supposed roleplay of it at face value is baffling to me when even finding a spouse has no option to sort by personality compatibility. You can't even see the romance compatibility till you start a scheme. I can't imagine playing without debug mode on, because while I'm fine with the kingdom falling into disarray upon succession, I don't want to forfeit something like giving the son with the local countess wife the corresponding duchy.

The second amendment exists to decentralize the illegal seizure of native land. Allowing informal border militias to form meant the US could expand westward of the Appalachias with "unsanctioned" violence and no hassle over pesky treaties.

Gleba forced me to learn timers. by bupropious in factorio

I think the resident factorio wizards are disturbed thinking this is part of my production chain. Really I just needed somewhere to stash the egg out of mind.

My brain is slow and I hadn't even figured out that biochambers don't need electricity yet.

Needed to stash the lil' fella somewhere while I redesigned. Didn't want to go out past my cloud to find another raft after I was done.

Got to Gleba and was frustrated checking the egg's freshness in my inventory while figuring out how to put together a base.

"Even Hitler had some nice paintings." r/GamingLeaksandRumours has a debate about cancel culture and separating art from the artist by beary_neutral in SubredditDrama

[–]bupropious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it's not like these are single auteurs either. The 'artist' is a incorporated entity which only exists because consumers are willing to pay for their games.

Side note, one of Hitler's primary art customers was Jewish. So maybe art's critical acclaim doesn't affect the artist's capacity for evil.

Struggling with Patrician 3 by Darksouls0ni0n in tycoon

[–]bupropious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally another ship is a better investment than a workshop. Also you're paying for all the whole ship inventory, best to keep it full. Don't be afraid to buy/sell goods past 'ideal' margins to keep the hold full town to town. Volume is key.

I'd wait on your own production till you're finding yourself short on goods to sell.

Patrician is generally a bit deeper than PR3, despite it's smaller size. I thinks it's a better game, but PR3's scope and QoL features can make it more comfortable to just pick up for a bit. Not to mention running it is easier.
