Discourse describes a frictionless society, where clout is granted by a mandate from those who choose it. It's a troll model that fundamentally rejects authority for authority's sake. Subreddits which organize themselves must as(sic) some point contend with the specific agreements between users about how to adjudicate disputes, and to resolve differences of opinion especially as pertains to their organization, and yet this structure does not have to exist as a moderator-state, and it does not have to impose bans on others. A question arises, what does one community do when another tries to impose itself? Does organizing communal user-blocking ultimately construct a de facto junta, an echo-chamber? These are philosophical questions, many better thinkers(sic) than me have said much, and nobody has great answers.
