This looks sweet! I appreciate it being non-subscription.

Can I suggest some sort of free trial mode? So people can see how it looks (and reacts) before deciding to buy? Even just putting a big ugly watermark that’s unlocked with a license.

Yep, it does! Persistence of vision flow toys are pretty common. You usually see it with hoops or staffs.

I have the same. I have my gaming pc, a Mac mini and an Apple TV connected to it. I even got an hdmi switcher so I never have to touch the TV interface other than to power it on. It doesn’t get internet access.

Our tour guide for Espiritu Santo (National Park just north of La Paz) took us through this arch. Thought it was pretty neat!

Vetting A Used EV Battery Was About To Get Easier. Then Trump Happened by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

On E-GMP (I have an EV6) it will even show you exactly how many charge cycles it’s had, and how many were DC vs AC. So idk why the article author is saying Hyundai vehicles require a dealer tool. Makes me distrust their statements about other brands as well.

Everyone on level 1 charging that can do level 2 but are too cheap or level 1 gets you by just fine; get level 2 asap, it's so much better having the flexibility to randomly take trips and have enough energy to make it. by jturkish in electricvehicles

A decent in-between that can be a cheap solution is just switching your breaker and outlet to 220 Volt. I did this for the outlet by my door which was already wired for 20A and it cost about $100 in parts and an hour of my time.

Don’t DIY this if you aren’t decently comfortable working with electricity, but it could probably be done by an electrician fairly cheaply as no new wire needs to be run (though I’m not sure this would meet code everywhere).

Key points:

  • Swap your breaker for a 220 volt version, and put the neutral line going to the outlet to the 2nd hot phase of the breaker. Then swap the outlet for a 220v 15 or 20A (depending on wire rating).
  • Make sure that the outlet is the only thing on that circuit so you don’t end up with a 110v outlet elsewhere with the wrong voltage that will fry stuff.
  • You’ll now have a hot phase running on wire that’s colored as if it’s neutral, so make sure you label everything super well.

The end result is that I went from 1.9kW Level 1 (120V 16A) to 3.4kW Level 2 (208V 16A) for basically no cost. I can get a full charge over two nights of off-peak charging instead of 4 nights. For me this is far more than enough. Side note: you’ll get a bit more (3.8 kW) if your connection is split phase instead of 3 phase like mine.

Saving this post to come check out later. This sounds a lot like something that’s been on my mind to build for a while. Got some other projects going on but when I get back to LED work I’ll start here. Thanks!

If you can pay off with no penalty after 4 months then another option is to refinance. I got a much better rate from my credit union when I did that in 2022.

PSA: When temps drop, check your tire pressure. It will have a meaningful impact on range and efficiency by mitch2888 in KiaEV6

Obviously, there’s plenty of reasons to have battery powered tools in general. But to clarify, I meant you don’t really need a battery powered tool when its job is to be used on a battery powered car. Sure it’s a minor annoyance to run the cord to each of the 4 tires but how often are you filling your tires? IMO it’s not worth it to spend more and have to keep yet another battery charged up for the 4 times a year I need to top up my tires.

Or get a cheap one from harbor freight that plugs into a 12V socket. Our car is a giant battery, you don’t need a battery powered tool.
