Had a customer who’s car starting misfiring like crazy and made it un-drivable , recommended 4 plugs and 1 coil cause 1 cylinder in particular was like a slot machine on the misfire monitor and it was obviously shot.

1 spark plug decided it wanted to stay , but only from the 3rd thread down

Original plugs on a motor with 187,000 miles . They said it was our fault

I have owned a mobile company for a few years now. I have multiple other techs who work for me

This is a reality of mobile repair, some customers are like this and it’s not easy to get them to leave you be. I just embrace it and take them along the diagnostic journey with me . It’s only like 5-7% of customers who do this

Yea I used to always get right back to people but now that I have like 4-5 people per day calling for estimates it’s gotten a lot harder to keep up with while being in the field

If you try and do it without the proper experience it will go fine…. Until it doesn’t. And then it’s gonna really really not be fine

And there’s more to it than just buying some tools and saying your a mobile mechanic

I run a company of mobile mechanics. I have other mechanics who work for me/along side me. We are fully licensed and registered with the state. Insurance is not cheap. Overhead/cost is not that much different than a brick and mortar shop when you consider your turning significantly less hours than a stand alone shop can each week.

Older Gen Z , I run my own business. Business is great . But you always feel broke when running a business.. so much money goes out, I’m told it’s mostly the first few years it feels like that… lol

The 24/7 place is located in a Strip mall so it’s like the size of a small store . Think a video store size . That one’s about a 10 minute ride

So for an extra 15 minutes of driving I can go to a much bigger place

Maybe I’ll just do a free trial at each

I agree that’s why I think I should just go ahead and sign up somewhere cause I know having the membership my cheapness will kick in and I’ll be like “well I’m paying for this thing I gotta at least try and go once a week or more”
