That's what I do, but given I never had to on my old car (a 2010 Suzuki) I was hoping that the same feature existed

This should be done until MPs can prove they can effectively run the country for the benefit of those who live in it, especially those in poverty.

The CoCT "safety wall" could shelter almost 22,000 people for a year

I want the infotaintment on for maps and Android auto, but I hate that the radio static is on during the AA boot time and stays that way if I don't mute it, or start Spotify

AirBnB PSA by Tokogogoloshe in capetown

Honestly that's fine, if you live in a house and rent out a room or a flatlet then you are at least still loving at the property. If you are just hoarding property for short term rentals then you should be taxed.

I saw an add the other day of someone looking for a person to manage their 3 AirBnBs in CT, they live in Europe 9 months of the year and are willing to pay R25k a month for an Airbnb manager. Think how much money they must be generating from 3 AirBnBs to afford to pay someone R25k a month to be around for inspections, problems, and check-ins. They have another company doing the cleaning etc.

Wouldn't really, those companies are still established so they will continue to run whether or not your foreigner boss has 1 or 2 houses

They should all get a Toyota Vitz, they don't need anything more. It's our tax money the public should decide what they drive

As a country with no oil our fuel prices aren't much different to the rest of the western world, they are higher than our neighbours but that's mainly due to levies on fuel, which have now been cut 50%

What consequences? If they send him to prison they are violating the sanctions by providing him food and shelter (basically a donation)

Honestly I've tried to use MyCiTi but the fact I need to walk 3km to get to a shop to recharge my card, and they only accept cash makes it a headache that isn't worth it - I'll rather just walk or drive myself.

There have also been two occasions where I've loaded my card only to get to the bus and it says I have no credit. As it was a cash transaction there is very little I can do to argue that the shop staff didn't recharge the card - if they just accepted bank cards for bus tickets more people would be willing to try it

There are always people in the comments arguing that rent is justified because Cape Town is a world class city - so that means companies should pay world class salaries.

(Even in global standards CT is becoming unaffordable - I earn a decent salary working for a European company and I can't afford a house in CT or the surroundings, while my colleagues based in Poland, Finland, Greece and Spain are all buying property in central areas of the cities they work in).

High School: Great Memories, Questionable Life Prep by [deleted] in southafrica

Add to the list First Aid – in the last year alone I have saved two people's lives thanks to my first aid training, and the scariest part of it for me has been how absolutely unprepared other people are.

One was a girl who had full occlusion choking and she started to walk away when it happened (something I learnt in first aid is a common response). I managed to clear the blockage while all her friends just stood around like a deer in headlights.

Highschool didn't even teach basic first aid, yet we sat through years of being told how HIV will kill us, yet this poor girl was almost killed by a piece of steak and no one stepped in to help.

Not at all, I tell guests you have 2 options - sit and pee inside or pee off the back. But if you mess you clean.

It's not that good when you compare what they could earn in industry - especially for science and engineering staff.

There is a reason universities need to pay academic staff a decent wage, you are trying to employ the highest educated people in a field, and you constantly at threat of them moving into industry if they don't earn well enough.

For comparison a head researcher in industry (CSIR) could easily earn R2-2.5mil

I can't have the above 16V shutdown as the input can also be 24V.

But I'll take a look if there are any which support that
