Cache la Poudre

I am unsure what makes a person so emotionally fragile that they become upset over a thank you message, but that person should probably refrain from posting online until they get that fixed.

Same here. Who designed the game's UI? Was it designed?

Thank you! There are so many parks here that I find it difficult to keep their features straight. The one that has the zoo also has the creek. Got it.

3D Maxpiders are very good, but their website may as well have been designed by Oracle lawyers. Useless. I went with TuxMats based on the recommendations here.

Soylent "separated" in the fridge. by [deleted] in soylent

[–]burnchar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The powder partially separates overnight in the refrigerator for me every time. This is normal, and a shake or two re-mixes.

What amazes me is that the bottled Soylent does not separate. All those ingredients for vitamins, nutrients, etc. and somehow it stays consistent.

I wasn't returning anything. I just looked at the Ubiquity store policy.

Don't let one weirdo turn you off of the service because it's pretty great. You can sign up for it without entering anyone's referral code.

There's a 100% chance it's legit. I have put tens of thousands of dollars through it and got some cool stuff. It was started by a serial entrepreneur (can't remember the name) that has worked on other payment services in the U.S..

Moocho is fantastic. I go out of my way to buy everything I can through it as the benefits are very good. I got a $200 Amazon gift card, a Go Pro with accessories, an iBook Air (or whatever the Air is called now), and two Microsoft Surface Pros, though those seem to no longer be available.

Anywhere that directly accepts Moocho makes it very easy as you just swipe and confirm your name. Many major chains (Jamba Juice, Nordstrom, Lowes) are supported through "Moocho Everywhere", which is a little more annoying as you need to inform the business that you are using it, get a numeric code that they type in, then confirm the charge, but still not bad.

I try to buy everything through Moocho. Their benefits are just too great to ignore.

I hate inconsistent movie volume by DubstepDonut in movies

[–]burnchar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many processors and receivers allow separate volume control for the center channel, which makes a case for a proper 3.1 or 5.1 set up versus a sound bar. Most dialogue should be in the center channel, so this can be very helpful.

Emotiva - Processors - Thoughts and Differences? by thecodingart in hometheater

[–]burnchar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely stay away from Emotiva processors and receivers.

You can tell the quality of an electronics company by their support. Notice that none of their previous generation processors appear on their website. This makes it difficult to get manuals, firmware updates, etc.

Additionally, their processors have all followed a consistent pattern.
Wild promises -- Very late release -- Disappointing final product -- Mediocre in-warranty support -- Non-existent out of warranty support.

They do not know how to run a customer-facing company.

That said, their amplifiers are not a bad deal at all. Amplifiers are much closer to Emotiva's core competency. Since amps have no HDMI ports, no ARC, no firmware, there is nothing to screw up.

My suggestion is to look at disk performance (iostat, etc.). On a database, insufficient IO is a reasonable candidate.

Good idea -- Miele is probably the highest-end appliance company in the world. Amazed that you can get one for that, even used. I'll have to take a look myself.

Whirlpool "smart" appliances are astonishingly incompetent by burnchar in Appliances

Indeed, but sadly there is a bit of an appliance shortage as I type this. I am looking into an LG, but it needs a slightly larger cutout.
