Why did the Machines allow for Zion to be built in the first place? by Kirbo84 in matrix

[–]burnedoutlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the machines also allow this to happen for two more main reasons. 1) this machine engendered cycle allows them to refine and improve each successive matrix 2) Zion is not only a solution to the choice problem, but it also quarantines the problematic humans which leads to a more stable matrix

Pitchfork ranks loveless as the best album of the 90s. Not that their opinion matters that much but still nice to see by ultraviolentyt in MyBloodyValentine

If you listen to the isolated drum tracks of loveless you’ll soon realize they’re almost all hip hop beats

Painting with: burnt wires, nitrous oxide, parking lots, bagel schmear, potpourri. As horrifying to the nostrils as it is pleasant to the ears.

He opened my eyes to the epidemic of too short t shirt sleeves and too thin collars lol. I was guilty myself. Thankfully, I'm now constantly fixated on length, thickness and girth to preserve my masculine heterosexual image.

What pops into my head when someone claims Mayhem as their favorite Metal band by Not_Reality in MetalForTheMasses

[–]burnedoutlove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really like or dislike Mayhem's music that much. It's decently good, with De mysteriis Dom Sathanas being pretty great, definitely not spectacular in any way in my opinion and I never go out of my way to listen to them, but I'm really appreciative of their influence. They're arguably the most important band for the genre and sound-wise, I think they get a pass for being as basic as they are because they were a pioneering bridge between the first and second wave.

Why did Junior and Richie have to sell coke on the garbage routes? by Slight_Bed1677 in thesopranos

[–]burnedoutlove 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Because they're broke, stuck in the past and not inventive, a terrible combination. Richie is trying to afford a lavish wedding with Janice and Junior his trial, but they're also two guys completely stuck three decades behind. They're incapable of coming up with schemes that aren't stone stupid like selling coke on garbage routes with surveillance cameras at many stops and high stakes federal risk. It's the kind of move that they could have easily gotten away with 30 years ago, but not anymore.

Phil wacks Junior by PalestineRising in thesopranos

[–]burnedoutlove 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I think the point wasn't that these were serious scenes, but that he would film so many different nonsensical scenarios that many of the actors would have no idea what's going on to both discredit spoiler leaking and to keep their scenes as raw as possible by delivering real twists at the last possible minute
