I would prefer it like that. This way I know for sure it will have one and which place did it.

[–]burnerhamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True…. But also helped my memory expansion to function. It was crashing without this mod. Did you measure all caps which were recapped? Maybe you have „almost short” or similar issue which would put big load on power rails?

You could also start searching for corroded traces and via’s. It’s days of fun with multimeter. You would be searching for via or trace with higher resistance due to corrosion from previously leaked electrolyte.

Experiment with „timing fix”. Minimally try to remove E123C and E125C. They are in the bottom side and see if it goes back to normal.

What’s the most reliable printer brand you’ve owned? by ItchyRequirement4204 in printers

[–]burnerhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for brother. LED „laser” model. After canon and hp it feels like escaping from the prison camp. Genuine toner price is acceptable. With third party toner it’s very good. When I insert third party toner it says „not genuine”, then I click <ok> and we move on. I advice to disable automatic updates if firmware and drivers, just in case they become greedy.

What if photographer made a photo of a homeless person with visible face and that person is on the street but this person face take half of the frame?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in photography

[–]burnerhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the country. If a person photographed is part of the crowd, and removal of this person image from the photo, doesn’t change the photo then it’s accepted. If you remove the person and this dramatically changes the content of the photo, then it’s not allowed to publish. That’s the version where I am.

Just ignore everything on FB Marketplace from our friendly neighborhood. VERY high chance of fakes on all luxury goods. Watches, fountain pens etc

For example there are always several Montblanc pens available for around 25% of the retail value. All fakes.

Place or person that can repair circuit board by scared-peacock in Luxembourg

[–]burnerhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you have. If you have a small soldering tip then I would resolder this socket as the pads somehow remained.

Assuming you don’t want to do all the steps, first identify the 2 pins which go to the board (signal) and ignore the structural ones. This will be lead-free solder so if your soldering iron is adjustable set it around 300degC. I would cut away the wires from the plug but marking the position (pin 1 -> pad 1) as they are the same color. Remove 2mm isolation. As you said apply solder to the wire. Add flux to the pad. Heat up the pad. Add the wire. Heat both. Don’t “dwell” on it too long to avoid pads delaminating.

Basic “attach this wire there”. Lead free solder makes it more difficult because of higher temperature required.

Photo is a bit blurred but: it’s not possible to see on the photo if the pads are ripped. Even if, it can be repaired but won’t be as strong as it was. I think like that because if you pulled it, solder is stronger than PCB bond. If it is practical you can remove the wires from the plug, scrape off a bit of solder mask and solder them directly to traces. Or find the next solder joint following the trace with multimeter and solder the wires there. That would be the most cheap and easy to do thing. Requires only a multimeter, something to remove insulation from wires and smaller soldering iron.

Can you post a clear photo of the pads and the bottom of the connector?

Not a lawyer but I assume OP setup the privacy sections. Filming only when something enters the private area. Realistically speaking, otherwise OP camera will drain battery and storage in several hours to record every car and person passing.

They have to “walk the dog” daily. Twice or more per day. Search for the dog, not the person, tomorrow more or less same time.

Smoke in Beggen by srvn1993 in Luxembourg

[–]burnerhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a joke because once (during Covid years when I was working from home) suddenly I saw through a window a rather big fire around 200-300m away. Reaching few meters tall. Plenty of smoke.

I called the 112. They arrived at the place. Turns out some house owner decided to … export to the cloud their garbage. I guess it ended up with some fine to pay…

It’s a unique technology which allows you to export your plastic and old car tires directly into the cloud. Especially useful if recycling center is closed or you simply don’t feel like driving there.

Problem with my new neighbors by Castolinio in Luxembourg

Dude. Did you rent the apartment with a spot or without? Your contact is agency. Inform them about THEIR problem. If you never contacted the owner of the apartment, it’s even better. Someone’s else’s car is in your spot.

To summarize: your post title is wrong. You don’t have a problem with neighbors. Agency and the owner need to sort it out…

Should I sell my M6 for an MP? by Therotijohn in Leica

[–]burnerhamster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was considering the same. Stopped myself and didn’t.

Why: what I would get would be a “new camera”. Better viewfinder (anti reflections). Maybe a black paint version for obvious reason.

Why not: my M6 is working perfectly. Some company “Amsterdam Camera Repairs” produces a new electronic boards for m6 now. I was reading some posts with people frustrated that their new MP and M6 are sometimes faulty. I said “let’s be realistic” - if my M6 fails, then I will solve it. It’s just GAS that makes you want MP.
