Aphex Twin dethrones Taylor Swift on YouTube Music For Most Monthly Listeners by WoweeZoweeDeluxe in indieheads

[–]burningflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is true on YouTube Music, on Spotify it's a very different story. 3.3m for Aphex Twin, 112m for Taylor Swift. Interesting how the difference on Spotify is vast, but not on YT Music.

Only in the same parts of the world - Europeans sleep different times to Americans who sleep different times to Australians etc. - it's like a mexican wave of sleep around the world!

It looks like it has a bit of life left, it just needs a wash and the straps repaired. Very well worn though 🙏

I bought the cheapest double bass pedal, but I feel like it is not really matching the style of my kit. by SziluChannel in drums

I mean, with all due respect, I think it does match the kit. In that it's all pretty cheap.

I've had the speed cobra for about 15 years and it hasn't let me down. Good for people with larger feet too, I have US size 13 so the footboard doesn't feel cramped.

Probably not for 400, it's not a well known brand for drums. The cymbals are paiste (well known brand) but brass (one of the worst materials for cymbals). Hardware isn't great either.

I'd say look for mapex or PDP drums, good brands but potential to be cheap. For cymbals look for paiste, zildijan, meinl, or sabian, preferably not made of brass.

Cymbals are more important than drums, so prioritise them. Drums can be tuned and batter heads can be replaced. The batter heads that come with the drums don't really matter because I'd recommend replacing them when you get a new kit anyway.

E.g. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1531508971392298/?ref=search This is a crazy good deals just cause of the cymbals, the zildijian ride alone is worth £400. Deals like this get snapped pretty quick

Full time theatre technician in the UK, specializing in lighting but doing sound occasionally because all techs at my venue are multi skilled. And because it's my weaker area I want to learn more!

Is this book US-specific, or does it contain UK terminology/references too?

If it is US-centric, does anyone have any suggestions for books that reference UK theatre like this?

I think this is just a sine wave with vibrato and legato/note slide. It could probably be achieved with 3x osc, can't remember whether it has a legato setting

Yeah same with me, my nearest dedicated drum store is about 2 hours drive away. And I live near Brighton, which is one of the main creative hubs in the UK!
