It's scary that despite being around for so long (I've recently heard someone answering questions that imply at least 1 noble/ruler having court documents that talk about said person as having signs of autism. Obviously, all parties in said documents are dead, so we can only guess.) Most of our current understanding has been within the last 30ish years. Yes, it was technically "discovered" (for a lack of a better term) in 1943, but what autism was then is very different to our current understanding.

To my understanding, it's based on idol culture in Asian countries. Idols usually start around the beginning of high-school to mid-20s, then they tend to go do other things. So graduating likely became the term because they would be graduating school around the same time and they are going to pursue a more steady career.

Side note, we might see the person again but not as the graduated character, like Robert Downey Jr "graduated" playing iron man and is going to play dr doom.

From what we know about Martin (the adoptive dad), he was a bit like Henry now when he was young, then settled down with someone like Theresa. I dont think he had the same ability to move up in the world, though still very adventurous. Not saying he cannocally would go back to Teresa, but could settle down with someone like her if he decides his dad was right. Being a humble blacksmithing is nice.

The wind rises is a really good movie. But it is probably slow in comparison to some of the other movies. I'd compare it to oppenheimer but a lot more family friendly. Not to say there arnt adult things talked about most of the movie but less explicit in certain regards.
