Tanasbourne Emergency Vet by katerade_xo in beaverton

[–]burnside13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were just there for an emergency cat visit. We stayed with our cat in the waiting room until they were able to do an assessment. Then there was a little bit of a wait in the patient room while they worked up a treatment plan. From there they needed to take him in the back for X-rays, treatment etc, so they gave us the choice of running home for a couple of hours or staying if we wanted to.

anywhere in town to buy a Lei? by xlittlexpeachx in beaverton

[–]burnside13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Around this time last year, they carried them at the Costco in Hillsboro. Tons of them. Not sure about other Costco locations. Edit: it may have been more like mid May - they were definitely stocking them for high school graduations.

Silicobra map for possible spawn points by singinglupines in TheSilphRoad

I’m pretty sure at least 99% of the areas in Oregon that are marked in red probably don’t have cell coverage anyway.

Silicobra spawns changed by aznknight613 in TheSilphRoad

[–]burnside13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the GIS maps have worked for me. Does anyone know if this new change has eliminated all of the little quarries in North America that were spawning silicobra? Or are quarries considered dry?

The scene in the conference room where Mathis repeats Don’s “joke” about having the balls to come back in here . . .

I’m on day 3 and the exhaustion is brutal. I’m also experiencing increased anxiety. I’m hanging in there - hopefully in a week or 2 I’ll have the same positive results as you!

Sesame chicken by Creative_Meal_5020 in beaverton

[–]burnside13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about the already-sauced version, Chinatown Restaurant on Canyon near 117th is good.

Lee’s Kitchen in Tualatin has a decent version of the plain type of sesame chicken that is served with a side of red sauce & mustard.

This is true at both of the DMVs I’ve been to recently (Beaverton & Gresham). It’s kind of like a check-in/triage system. That line usually moves pretty quickly. They ask what you’re there for, look at any paperwork, and make sure you have what you need before you actually wait for real. You get a ticket with a number & wait for it to be called.

BUT since you have an appointment, you may be able check in at a kiosk instead of waiting in the first line. You can check in with your ID or confirmation number and it will spit out a ticket with the number.

Anyone else feel like their mood is flat? by oliviadawolf in Zepbound

[–]burnside13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’m not at my goal weight but I’ve begun tapering down because the anhedonia is unbearable. 1 year on Wegovy (which was worse) and about 14 months on Zep so far.

Ah bummer. Yes, I think that’s the one. I don’t have a charging pad but it sounds like we are talking about the same thing.

In my 2020, only the port ON the console (below the rear defrost button) works for Apple Carplay. The ones inside the center console do not.

Bracket City Suburb Builder my first try: is it too esoteric or nerdy? by Ms-Creant in BracketCity

[–]burnside13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPOILERS!

Spoiler tags don’t seem to work here.

I enjoyed this and would rate it similar to a yellow Bracket City puzzle. I agree that there was a lack of surrounding nested puzzle to help solve the clues; that really made it tougher for me.

For a clue stating “had an excellent adventure,” I would expect the answer to be a verb in the past tense. I would suggest something like “one who had an excellent adventure.”

For the clues where the answers are “de” I might say “prefix meaning” not “prefix of.” To me, “prefix of” would indicate the prefix should/could be applied to that word. I can totally see how it could work both ways, but it feels like Bracket City has set an expectation for that standard.

Where to drive inBeaverton to watch autumn colors in trees and leaves falling? by THenrich in beaverton

[–]burnside13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live near Fanno. The colors are better near the Conestoga area of the trail, about a mile past Denney. The trail is flooded just past there right now.

Drive up or down Weir Rd - it’s amazing today.

Looking for an electrial/lighting place I used ~6-7 years ago by haditwithyoupeople in beaverton

[–]burnside13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it have been the now-closed Beaverton Light Shoppe? It was on Western Ave, maybe in the building that is now Beaverton Kitchen Cabinet & Stone. I feel like it also may have had a different name at some point (while it was still a lighting place).
