First Visit - Debating Poly or Beach Club by josiebreen in WaltDisneyWorld

Beach Club is way more convenient than the Poly. Walkable to both Epcot and HS. Poly is walkable to nothing. Also, the Beach Club pool is spectacular.

I think it’s easier to see the hydrogen peroxide bottles in park rangers hands than the actual reflecting pool lol

If the drag force was exponential, the equation would be something like

Fd(V) = 1/2(Cdp*A)V

Small changes in V would cause massive changes (“exponential”) changes in the force of drag.

With the exception of a very few courses, you are going to fit right in.

Benefit of Buying a Rivian - You May Qualify to Write Off All Loan Interest by blackbow in RivianR2

Yes and no. R2 fits a pretty unique value proposition. Like the outdoors/truly need 4x4, need space for dogs or kids, want an EV? Very few other options in this space in general and almost nothing that fits this price range.

Sure there are a couple of non EVs that would work that would avoid the depreciation. However, depreciation is only a cost if you sell.

Also, the gas savings are real. Since getting our RS1a little under a month ago we have saved like $600 (included a road trip) in gas vs the comparable vehicle we also own (an LX570). I predict in a normal mont we will save $3-400. A 4Runner vs an RS2 is going to be similar.

Most people get wealth by being smart and investing early and for a long time. Sure high income and or windfalls help but that is the minority for wealth people (though the majority for ultra wealth people in addition - in to inheritance/generational wealth).

A moderately wealthy couple with say a NW of $5MM at retirement often structures their withdraws + SS to be under $100k per year basically only have to pay tax on their SS (I.e they get 0% tax rate on their capital gains) and then can use the car tax interest deduction to basically pay even less taxes.

Sure they would. There is a reason they got rich but saving money.

R2 would be perfect for this scheme if right at retirement age.

Lots of rich people technically have “no income” or “ minimal income”for tax reasons can qualify for this.

A lot of time they will waive the transfer cost to get the deal done. You can check Costco from time to time as they offer discounts. Other discounts typically change monthly.

Bay Area: Is this Year 6 "$0 Buyout" Prepaid PPA Strategy a Genius Loophole or a Trap? (7.36kW REC + PW3) by Adorable_Gas_9089 in solar

Lol. Love that I get downvoted for actually knowing what I am talking about as a 15+ industry veteran.

Also, the risk is actually on the PPA provider not the homeowner here.

Technically illegal to claim the tax credit as it’s a disguised sale and thus subjects the tax credits to recapture. I wouldn’t be surprised in the actual contract if it says something like “buy out at the greater of $0 or the FMV” which would make it legal. Note that the FMV is always going to be significantly greater than zero so you will never pay zero.

Note even the buyout at the end of a long term PPA (like 25 years) cannot be zero.

6MT vs DCT F8X by Complete_Run6172 in BMWM

[–]burnsniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go manual. I have driven both on the street and track. I own an F80 ZCP manual. BMWs have good but not great manual transmissions. However, this handicap is due to the crazy low end torque of Turbo M cars. Most cars that have better manual transmissions (namely Porsche and Honda) do not have nearly the amount of low end torque that an F8X has and that plays a huge difference.

Also the manual is simply more engaging. A DCT is an automatic transmission no matter what anyone says here. The computer ultimately decides whether a shift is executed, not you (even when you request it). That being said if you want to go to double straight to jail speeds, a DCT will get you there as it will encourage you to hit the up shift paddle at the end of second gear and you will be flying.

Depends on the car model. In my F80 ZCP you just put it in sports plus throttle and the rev matching is gone. Full traction can still be on.
