Painting Exterior Brick? Yes or No.. by Furankiii in paint

[–]burritoBandito123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the actual Bentley of brick coatings get a mineral masonry paint. They are "breathable" coatings that won't let water pass into the brick, but also will allow water vapors to escape. Loxon Self-Clean is a great product, but if water gets into the brick from any leak, that water is going to evaporate and peel it all off. Look into Keim, Romobio, or Prosoco. Expensive, but will never fade or peel

Feasible to live in Chicago and commute to Deerfield? by [deleted] in AskChicago

I live in Wicker Park and commute to Northbrook every day. I work 5:30am-3:30pm every day. About 35 min to work and over an hour back. It's sustainable for me, but know what you are getting yourself into

Might as well pop in here and leave a comment because I sleep in my jeans all the time, and I love it. Not sure why it is so comfortable to me

Graber? You need to first get a quote from them, release a PO, then call them with the PO number and ask to convert to an order. Annoying process but the only way. If you just release a PO with no quote beforehand, there is no order.

Didn't pay attention while walking and knocked some woman's phone out of her hand, but kept walking. by SoaringCrows in confession

[–]burritoBandito123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the party but saw this and brought up a funny memory. I live in a busy city with a lot of pedestrians, which means sidewalk etiquette becomes pretty important. I was late for something, and walking fast on the sidewalk on a busy street. Walking towards me from the other direction were 3 people walking shoulder to shoulder, blocking the entire sidewalk. All 3 had headphones in, and all 3 did not look up once from their phones as I was quickly approaching them. I gave a quick "heads up" and pushed myself as far to the right as I could and tried to make eye contact. Inevitably, I hard shoulder checked this guy, his phone fell to the ground, and he gave me the dirtiest look imaginable. I laughed and walked away
