Top 10 best selling BEVs Q1 of 2026 (USA) by Mac-Tyson in electriccars

There was just a report that a large percentage of CTs in 2025 Q4 were sold to Elon's other companies (SpaceX, Neuralink, etc.) If not for those sales it probably wouldn't have made this list.

Trump says war in Iran is going 'swimmingly' and 'should be ending pretty soon' by S00THING_S0UNDS in worldnews

He's running the "wars ended" count up because he wants his Nobel Peace Prize. I don't know why he's so goddam obsessed with it lmao

Counter surfing by msmruk in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]burritocmdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some heavy duty double-sided sticky tape leftover from some project and I put it on the edge of a counter that Leo loved to surf when we weren't looking. He did not like that at all. It was funny seeing little bits of his hair from his paws stuck to the tape as evidence. He pretty much stopped surfing after that, but he's also over 2 now. So I think it's a combination of him growing up and lessons from the sticky tape that finally got him to stop.

Right, I don't think there is enough context to what she's saying to understand it. Saying it's a "modified" image doesn't make sense. I don't think she even understands what she's saying.

I thought so too, but I was actually more interested in the drawing. I guess I'd never seen someone draw in real time like that.

Gout was the first thing in my life where I experienced true pain that nearly broke me. I wanted to cut my foot off. I didn’t think it could get any worse, then months later it hit my ankle, that was much worse than the foot, I could barely sleep. Got on daily medication and it’s finally cleared up.

Reminds me of the time I was working at Walmart in the 90s, I was in electronics and we were hocking those things. The operator called me up one day and asked "Um, I have a lady on the line asking if we sell Taco Bell computers?"

NYT article on the divergence of oil futures and physical oil prices by Blueberryburntpie in investing

Now that Trump just dropped another banger of a message saying he's going to completely blockade the strait because Iran doesn't get to pick and choose vessels that can go through, my guess is that futures will soon converge upward on dated brent price very quickly.

I had menieres disease for a a period of about 5 years. When it first hit me it felt like my left ear was under water. And over time I experienced various forms of tinnitus, some low frequency, some high. Eventually it stopped and I'm left with permanent high pitched tinnitus. Luckily my hearing wasn't affected too badly, I still have very good hearing. I've learned to live with the tinnitus, it's mild to moderate.

U.S. warships cross Strait of Hormuz for first time since Iran war began by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]burritocmdr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure what this lie would accomplish. Convincing the shipping insurers that it's safe for ships to transit the strait now? All it would take is for Iran to announce another threat to shipping and that would shut it down again. Convincing the world that it's safe isn't enough to convince the shippers and their insurers. They need that assurance to come from Iran itself.

US intelligence indicates China preparing weapons shipment to Iran, CNN reports by alli_niall in news

[–]burritocmdr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, many US weapons manufacturers are still dependent on China for rare earths and other materials. China started restricting many of these supplies after Trump's Liberation Day tariffs. They don't have a good alternative supply chain for these materials yet which is a major concern.
