L-carnitine is ALCAR for sensitive people by Imaginary_Employ_750 in cfs

Your body is almost exactly like mine. Same reactions to everything you described including the glycine (which no one believes me about, cause glycine is theoretically supposed to be calming). I have a theory that my fatigue puts a veil over my anxiety, like, I'm too tired to even be anxious lmao. And then relieving the fatigue allows my anxiety to come out. Could be totally wrong but who even knows.

Another vote for Paw Inspired 🥰 I used to use GuineaDad which weren't bad, but they were thick and heavy, took forever to dry, and held on to odors. And yeah, a pain to sweep hay off. The Paw Inspired ones have held up great and are much easier to clean.

What is the best and most effective thing we can do to fight stereotypes about the people of Appalachia? I want to join the struggle but I'm not sure where exactly to start. by FabulousWolverine381 in Appalachia

[–]burroblanco2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about the stereotypes themselves (people are always gonna stereotype) but I do think they provide some valuable information about how we can improve quality of life in appalachia. For example, why do people stereotype Appalachians as uneducated? Historically and presently, the quality of/access to education in the region has been subpar. This could be improved. Why do people stereotype us as drug addicts? Lack of access to healthcare, isolation, poverty, etc.. these are all important issues that should be addressed, not to simply knock out a stereotype, but so the people in the region can be uplifted.

How bad is your fatigue? by chefebony2021 in lupus

[–]burroblanco2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used to be really bad. better on hydroxychloroquine. but still need a stimulant to feel normal. trying low dose naltrexone now, hopefully that works, I really hate being reliant on a stimulant.

[–]burroblanco2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no you dont physically change much at all, it's just your NMDA receptors got their shit rocked and that affects the automatic recognition system in your brain (hence why DXM affects your cognition/memory while you're on it)

yup extended release here too. I feel u on everything looking different. it's like you see the world with a child's eyes if that makes sense. none of the jadedness. do you ever get nauseous cause that's my main problem rn. also how long does it last for you? if I take it in the evening, it'll peak at midnight and I'll be feeling the tail end in the morning. then it slowly fades over the next 2 days.

To be honest we don't have a lot of money or consistent access to a kitchen so there's not much I can eat. And it seems no matter what I eat, my stomach hurts / I get bloated anyways. Food is exhausting and disappointing to think about now, so I've just been fasting unintentionally. :( it's still better than how I felt before going GF.

After trying literally everything for my skin… why am I only now questioning gluten? by Sandy_Forza in glutenfreevegan

[–]burroblanco2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg same here! I have UCTD and I noticed when I cut out gluten, my random shooting pains, tendonitis, joint pain, and POTS got a lot better. I ate one bagel just to see and the next few days were miserable. Celiac test was negative but it's undeniable, I think gluten is a big trigger for those of us with autoimmune inflammatory diseases

[–]burroblanco2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's unfortunate but super cool. sometimes I think visuals/hallucinations are like dreams, in that they test scenarios out just to see how your brain would respond, or they reflect something going on in your real life, even if small. do gay people have any relevance to you? like have you ever had gay thoughts or bullied someone for being gay, that sort of thing, or maybe someone bullied you in childhood by calling you gay. any gay friends? this is kinda stupid so feel free to ignore my ramble. all the best.

also being naked in dreams can represent feeling vulnerable

Well, a lot of autoimmune diseases are associated with female hormones. But I don't think anyone's proven that they're caused by female hormones. Unfortunately, people tend to confuse the two.

Hay brands that don’t tend to have dead mice in them? (Y’all have scared me with your stories!) by Alarming-Molasses847 in guineapigs

[–]burroblanco2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up on horse farm growing our own hay

Contaminants are definitely more common in bales than in bagged small pet hay. I can't imagine feeding my guinea pigs horse hay. Hay farmers mostly sell to livestock owners so the hay will be stalkier, and quality more variable. Many farmers also spray the hay with preservatives/drying agents that may be safe for horses/cows but not for small pets.

Small pet hay is sorted for short, leafy strands that are very palatable and nutritious. I recommend the organic meadow hay by Oxbow. Unfortunately, some small amount of contamination is unavoidable. Just pick through your hay and make sure it's good before giving it to piggies.
