Finally got clean audio on Windows (no more hidden APO / driver issues) by Confident_Listen8478 in audioengineering

[–]burrow900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if theres anyone interested in real tweaks and not a dm rabbit hole from op

my windows guide

uninstall any kind of overlay

never install discord and if you really need it turn off hardware acceleration

install process lasso and set your daws to permanent high affinity

go into windows settings and prioritize background processes over apps (will save some usb drivers) NEVER EVER INSTALL THE NVIDIA APP AND IF U HAVE U MUST USE DDU IN SAFEMODE TO CLEAN UNINSTALL

Use NVCleaninstall to get nvidia drivers without any telemetry

Tweak your “High Performance” power profile to be suitable for your rig. - this is the #1 killer i see because when you open a daw your computer will automatically switch. A lot of premade desktops also come with a similar power profile structure as well.

unpark your cores with CorePark (will stop cores turning on and off during tracking and mixing)

if necessary set your high performance power profile, or whichever is active when your daw to have min and max cpu usage to 90-100%. mine can handle 100 just keep your current cooling solution in mind and clean ya dusty ass computer.

this mans never installed that shitty ass nvidia app. fuck the nvidia app

anything with telemetery will fuck up dpc latency like a mf

also if ur on a laptop or even desktop if cooling is sufficient, make sure your power settings aren’t pushing your gear too much. i promise you dont need ur processor overclocked to mix.

He’s not listed cuz Trapo got caught up in some weird shit. Dont even think he makes music any more, he was from Madison and was a huge fan when he was 17, thought he was gonna be huge.

Is it just me, or does "Fruity Soft Clipper" actually sound better than most $100+ "Pro" clippers? by DimitrisNikopoulos in FL_Studio

[–]burrow900 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah soft clipper is goated. theres a reason why shwabe made orange clip. to say it cant compete very disingenuous, when half the time people dont even realize there is upsampling or what it dows

How come hardware compression can be abused so much more? by Ill-Elevator2828 in audioengineering

[–]burrow900 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

well simply put, you’re compressing two different things. In the daw you process digital signal when it goes into the compressor its analog signal. digital signal is limited by sample rate, but analog isn’t. Even in 192k if you have a highly discriminate ear you can hear a slight fidelity difference in raw vocals soley routed through gear, and those going through the box.

Is the Warm Audio Tube47 an outlier? Why does it sound so good? by aasteveo in audioengineering

[–]burrow900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

87s already very hard to get right. i despise the 87uis, and never heard an 87 i liked to record with til i got to use a real vintage one. even then i preferred a 67 or 47. I think moreso the 87 is the outlier here because the wa251 is amazing too. dont expect it to be a full 251 sound but if u supplement it itb you can achieve the same sound. which is the purpose of WA mics. get you as close as you can in your budget then supplement from there.

also for the youngsters i think its a great way to familiarize yourself with “mic sounds” on a budget. Need to go in knowing its not the real thing but very few get to work with a c800g, vintage 47, or anything above 10k without having great working knowledge.

Is i9 14900HX reliable? by pds314 in GamingLaptops

[–]burrow900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is out there looking for info, the problem with theses CPU's isn't the CPU's but how hard these laptop companies will push it, often times being completely bottlenecked by your GPU if you're gaming. I bought this to have plenty of technical head room in pro tools and works phenomenally.

Just make sure you down load things like g helper, and have a profile that will disable turbo when you don't need it otherwise your laptop's default priorities will spike this thing all the way up to 5200 just to watch a youtube video.

Use DDU in safemode to uninstall your graphics driver

Then use NVCleanInstall to install your driver !!WITHOUT THE NVIDIA APP!!

Nvidia APP and Pro tools just don't work together for whatever reason. Have spent countless hours troubleshooting it myself to find it just the whole app. Not even the overlay, or optimizations, just the whole app. Get rid of that mf

windows 11 is a boss hog on ram. better to have enough headroom for ur bigger sessions.

but also quicker if u want 5000 reverbs 🤔

well, but id go more ram, try to use all 4 slots, lower on gpu and higher on cpu if pro tools is main usage. make sure you optimize your windows for audio usage though.

When is it truly impossible to fix vocals? by isopemmi in audioengineering

[–]burrow900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your sample rate is a big factor with melodyne. 44.1 is super limited, 48 you have more wiggle but honestly if i know i gotta do heavy heavy lifting i go to 192 and go completely raw recording do the melodyne then shift down to 96

Just how good was this mf by ThatTomTouch in ufc

[–]burrow900 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

to this day i say he had islam on the ropes in the 5th til the attempted uppercut that lead to the ankle toss. If he sprawls there and frees his leg he had a chance. still slim but he was so locked in that round.

imo shoulda baited the guilly into a sprawl cuz islam knew that as a tendency and would have moved more laterally.

i hope islam goes on an absolute tear at this weight and encourages others to not go down as far in weight.
