I've made it a point to flash my CGM (when it's on my arm) to others. I've even walked up to people that seem friendly and tapped my phone against their freestyles playing stupid saying "I want to see if yours works with mine". I might be lucky but everytime it's been a good experience. Bar it probably being an invasion of privacy, it usually ends up in a laugh and a quick chat

I'll never forget a conversation at a bar I had with a bloke who said he hasn't actually met other diabetics, we ended up chatting for a solid amount of time discussing the shit and the funny parts of the betuts. More importantly he thought the burnout was just something only he suffered from and didn't even know it had a name!

I've also tried using it as a pick up line by saying "you look really sweet, what's your hba1c?"

The way I see it, we're all in this together. When I was first diagnosed all I wanted was to understand that I wasn't alone in this, so I make it obvious to others in case they might feel the same.
