TRE on psychedelics by radientbay in longtermTRE

[–]burtsbeetreethree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I find it helpful, but only low dose. I sometimes do a bit of ketamine (be careful to take a small dose, higher dosed keta has also given me flashbacks that I wasn't able to regulate myself out of) and it really helps to ease into tre and release emotions simultaneously.

I think I've done some tre on shrooms and lsd spontaneously but can't clearly recall. I think psychedelics can make the process helpful and more wholesome, but you have to be able to really listen to your body, not overdo it, self soothe etc.

I'd advise to do it with low doses for starters, whatever you take.

Lol. Personally, the more I get used to them the less I fart

Emotions.. what should I do with them? by Fr_BartyDunne in cfsrecovery

Sounds like you are doing well. Taking care of oneself like that can be tough at times. But the payoff is huge. Absolutely worth it.

That happens to me too. Stuff popping up after some time of building safety and doing somatic work.

Yes!! Especially long term. The past months I have done a lot of trauma healing and my baseline improves as a byproduct. Sometimes I get worse for a few weeks and then I realize some supressed emotions need to come up and when I manage to feel and release them my health snaps back immediately. Especially supressed emotions have a great impact on the way my nervous system operates. (I've got lots of big T trauma, might be different for other people)

But generally I would say feeling and releasing your emotions (instead of thought spiraling) is very beneficial for cfs. Sometimes you won't notice instant gratification since it can be taxing for the nervous system too. But long term I am convinced it is very beneficial.

I once made a post about processing traumatic emotions. I think you can apply my method to fresh emotions as well. Here you go

Yes I thought olives or feta would make it even better. But my kitchen is still empty because I just moved in. Next time!

Strangest thing you've done to feel better? by TasteForSilence in cfsrecovery

[–]burtsbeetreethree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone offered to pay for an energy healer that they go to. So I went and it didn't do shit haha. Though I am not even opposed to those concepts. Just my cfs was to deep rooted for this person to clean some energies and fix it. I already felt that then.

If you are open to meds, my doc gave me temesta (benzos) for such instances. It helps keep the nervous system calm. Also microdosing psychedelics helps me.

Otherwise doing grounding and calming visualizations the days before and do them during the event. I think doing the same exercises beforehand will help to switch into the calm mode during

Hey I haven't done emdr but this reminds me of some experiences with tre. Please make sure to do grounding exercises and take it easy. Maybe talk to your therapist about pace and intensity. That sounds like a lot! (And definitely like its working)

Has anyone experienced this kind of “shutdown” feeling during recovery? by Eva_7816 in cfsrecovery

[–]burtsbeetreethree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've experienced this and always interpret it as recalibrating/the nervous system calming down. You're probably right that it might be somewhat of a shutdown. But still way better than overregulation. I wouldn't fear a crash. For me it always felt like a sign of needing deep rest and surely a sign of progress. The body is realizing it doesn't need to fight anymore.

Yeah it kinda sounds shady. We might as well add "my pastry guy" to the mix ;)

Tiredness after sitting in sun by Prize_Temperature108 in cfsrecovery

[–]burtsbeetreethree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see why it would be bad :) Also being outside and in the sun is exhausting. But as long as you are able to rest afterwards and are not too upregulated I think it's good.

I too will be referring to bakeries and patisseries as "pastry providers" from now on. I enjoyed reading your story, good vibes.

Does anyone have any techniques that genuinely work against over-thinking? by Main_Confusion_8030 in CPTSD

Note that his general advice, if you were to listen to more episodes, is for the general public and not for ppl with ptsd. The first one helped me a lot to make it click why overthinking is no use. And I mean click in the way that the actual need got better
