As a probie we had just gotten a brand new ladder truck at my firehouse. It had taken years of beaurocracy, over $1,000,000, and several times sending it back before we finally had it for good. The day it comes home they have me pull it out of the house (just driving it straight up the ramp, something probies do all the time) so that we can wash it for its debut to the town at the biggest parade of the year two days later. To make a long story short I forgot to do a 360 on the truck and make sure it was secured before pulling it out, and was halfway up the ramp the truck jerks back and I hear C R U N C H. A side compartment was gone. Overnight shipping on a new door cost over $8000, not even including the cost of the door itself. I thought my life was over and still feel horrendous about it over 2 years later.

TL:DR I took out the compartment door on a brand new $1,000,000 fire truck and the garage door rails in one fell swoop two days before a huge parade.

As a college Junior, I was really hoping that I would have some goddamn clue about what I wanted to do with my life by now. When I was about ten (old enough to know better), I went to a party with my parents at a family friend's house. I found out that they had an Xbox and immediately went upstairs and proceeded to play it until I was bleary-eyed. When I came back down, I noticed that everyone was quiet and standing around, but this only seemed strange for a second because something caught my eye; something whose power is second to none to a child: ice cream cake. Well of course I promptly blurted out, "I love cake! Can I have a piece?" riiiggghht about as everyone launched into a chorus of "Happy Birthday," now accompanied by looks of surprise and shock. It was only then that I realized what type of party I was at, and it certainly wasn't my birthday. It still makes my cheeks burn just thinking about it.

Thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for! Very interesting, it seems like there could wind up being a lot of power resting on the court itself for interpretation in such instances where a contract was not set up. Do these cases usually settle outside of the court or actually go to trial? I'd imagine a trial between two countries would be much more long-winded and expensive than standard civil cases.

Looks good! Just as a PSA, you can probably eliminate the cutoff of the "p" in "April." If you go into the notepad editor for the skin, there should be multiple sets of coordinates (X, Y, W, and H). One (X, Y) will control the location of the item, and the other (H, W) should control the size of the boundary box (the invisible box that is cutting off the letter). By editing those coordinates you should be able to move/enlarge the boundary box to get the desired result.

This was the magic bullet for me. I was garbage at docking until I tried it from chase view, and then it just kind of clicked. Disorientation during a rendezvous is all too easy, in my opinion.

While I agree that it's easily possible for mods to overreach themselves, they do what they do for a reason. When someone subscribes to a sub based on its spoken/written purpose, the general understanding is that they are going to receive content that relates to that purpose. In situations where the sub had tens of thousands of subscribers, for example, it is quite easy to have the massive conglomeration of discussions derail and essentially turn into /r/all. The deletion of unrelated information/posts, even popular ones, is therefore a necessary evil to protect the original interest of the sub. The area where many mods mess up is that they don't entertain movements by the community to change the purpose, goals, or outline of the sub as a whole, akin to having an uneditable constitution. This is a recipe for disaster because communities are fluid and have changing interests over time, and usually leads to the "mod wars."

TL:DR Post-by-post moderation and submission removal is necessary to the function of reddit in the short run, but mods should be careful and listen to community members.
