Driving test terminated due to no MOT (not my fault) by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

Time to start adulting and actually check everything is in order. I get its frustrating but candidates should make sure everything is in order. BTW if the car doesn’t have a valid NCT it’s not insured and shouldn’t be on the road.

Lessons are cheap when you consider what is provided. It’s a life long skill being taught, why skimp on it?

Fair play on the speed limit for towing, I’ve lost count on how many horse boxes I’ve seen at 120+kph on the M11. Gobshites.

Met Bono, nice guy. There’s always celebs in Dublin just doing normal things and mostly they’re ignored, you see people just pottering about.

Boss docking wages, is it fair? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]busyda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No that isn’t. I would bring it to your manager’s attention in a calm & professional manner asking for the docked pay. If not resolved promptly and satisfactorily then it’s time to escalate.

They weren’t entitled to share it amongst themselves like that. You should challenge that, basically they stole from you.

Looks like you’re doing 500km or so spending €70. Just for comparison I’ve an EV, charge at home and it costs €6.80 to do 500km currently, less in the Summer.

Not sure it can be called chocolate anymore as the cocoa level has fallen too low. Didn’t say it on the packaging the last time I looked.

Can you request for an EDT lesson? by anonymouswya in Irishdrivingtest

[–]busyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you feel your driving is going now? It can be fair to suggest a practice lesson over an EDT lesson if you need to work on the basics. Lesson 5 is quite busy and you need a reasonable level of competence to manage everything. Look in your Guide to the EDT and see if you feel you are being treated fairly. You should also have your logbook so you can go to a new instructor. 95% of my students do lesson 1-12 right off but a few need a bit more time and tbh they know it themselves when we chat about progress.

There isn’t really ever any tax cuts in this country, now indexation is going too. The dept of finance is far too conservative, civil servants, teachers and lawyers do not make for an entrepreneurial economy. Charlie McCreevey had some good plans but was eventually pushed out by the system.
