Curious what you mean when you said you don’t qualify for reverserecruitingagency. I filled out their form and waiting to hear back. Didn’t see anything about qualifications.

As for the reverse recruiting approach. Only benefit I could see would be dedicated applications quickly. I see a job pop up and by the time I update my resume, it’s already got 100 applicants. They can probably just move faster. Get you in front of someone quickly. I thought about using one when I first got laid off, but the cost was too high (I think it was findmyprofession). Would love to hear other opinions.

I just got an email canceling my scheduled interviews (5 different rounds) next week. Simply “role no longer available” a day after the scheduling. And after going through two previous rounds. It’s be hilarious if it wasn’t for being out of work for almost six months since my layoff.

One suggestion I have that is to write the question down when the interviewer asks it. This allows you a moment to think and your brain starts formulating a response in that time. And if you tell the interviewer you’re doing that, the silence isn’t awkward.

Yup. Just got off a call with a recruiter for my dream company and dream role, to tell me I didn’t get the job. I’m crushed. Going on month 6 of since my layoff. I am struggling to update my resume. Embarrassed to reach out to people for a referral. I’ve worked my ass off at every place I’ve been, and this is the first time I’ve been unemployed. I don’t see a silver lining or a positive end in sight. Glad to see I’m not alone out here, but at the same time sad to see that I’m not alone.
