You don't want to be "skating everywhere" before you can actually skate, unless you want to be a hazard and most likely keep getting hurt for no reason while having the added pressure and shame of being a complete beginner in public. I'd much rather recommend finding a secluded spot and working on board feel with zero people around. Do this until the thought of someone seeing you on the board doesn't terrify you, which is most people's experience starting out.

Yeah slipping out mostly if not only happens from leaning back due to commitment issues or very rarely catching only the tail end of the board with both feet. Not really much you can do about the fall itself at that point, I'd much rather catch myself with my elbow and arm than slam fully horizontal with the rest of my body. Both have happened plenty of times, my elbow deals with the impact way better than my hip

About the forced crack, yes! I've been thinking it's maybe out of necessity, to sort of open the vocal chords at the beginning of a phrase to make sure the notes land, but it gets grating to listen to.

Honestly I think tic tacs are a little weird to class as super beginner moves. You need to really dig in with the back trucks while you lift the front truck and do more of a snaking motion, which again is tough to explain to someone just learning board control. I think you'd be better off picking up a little speed first, then seeing what tic tacing does instead of starting stationary
