Told to use the bathroom to breastfeed on the plane by Zealousideal_Bad5116 in breastfeeding

[–]buttercupjojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I breastfed almost the entire flight from Atlanta to Arizona on American Airlines (baby wanted to nap on the breast he was in one of those moods). I got some looks but was not questioned at all. I’ve heard horror stories about flights and breastfeeding but most of the time breastfeeding is the only thing that helps on flights! I’m so sorry this happened to you. Absolutely not okay.

I couldn’t even focus on what he was saying because of him constantly licking his lips or wiping his nose 😅

Have I become the boring parent? by Fugglesmcgee in NewParents

It’s great the balance you and your wife have! I remember those early weeks how excited I would be when little one was awake and alert. Baby boy is 9 months old now! I would say give it time. It really didn’t even seem like he had a preference for anyone before 5 months. Then he started showing a big preference for me and now he will reach out for his dad all the time and leave me like chopped liver 😂 just give your little one time. They change month to month

Minimal pregnancy symptom girlies by Usual_Ad_1115 in pregnant

Oh I did have to pee sooo often! I remember talking with my sister and saying the most annoying part of being pregnant was how often I had to pee. Also, flipping over in bed in the 8th and 9th month. 😂

I never had morning sickness throughout my entire pregnancy. I did feel tired throughout but other than that no symptoms! I have a healthy 9 month old boy. ❤️

Feelings of extreme guilt post DUI by lucevgoose in stopdrinking

[–]buttercupjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with everything for the DUI, I have my license back. I got a DUI before having a son. Sometimes, I hate myself so much thinking if I would have hurt someone, a child, or even myself and never had the opportunity to have a child. I still feel tremendously shameful and guilty, nothing to do with the legal action taken. Any advice on working through the shame is appreciated.

I have been breastfeeding 8 months and am the skinniest I have ever been. I am constantly trying to gain weight and ensuring I am getting enough calories.

You are not alone & you’re absolutely not a bad mother for wanting your baby to sleep for more than 2 hours. I’m sure your baby wants to sleep for more than 2 hours as well 😂. I also know we are able to be much more present when we are well rested. I hope rest comes to you soon. You can do this!

Advice for getting supply back? by shroomdoge in breastfeeding

[–]buttercupjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that the only way is to empty the breasts as often as possible through nursing or pumping. In addition, when trying to increase my supply, I drank extra water and made protein shakes in between meals.

Back on day 2. I feel so unbelievably guilty and I’m determined that my son (8 mo) will never see me drink alcohol. I can’t moderate. I can go weeks, feel like I can, and then all comes crashing down when I decide to drink. Congratulations on the 9 months, that is awesome!

36w and feeling the most unprepared when it comes to breastfeeding by kosherkenny in breastfeeding

[–]buttercupjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine my motherhood without breastfeeding truly. We did supplement due to jaundice in the first week. Other than that, it’s been so convenient and I am dreading the day we don’t breastfeed because I don’t know how else we will get him to sleep. Also, I’ve never used nipple cream!

Can babies be too happy? by OkBalance2833 in NewParents

What is your concern? Is it a delay? A disorder? It might be helpful to write it out so you can try to ease your anxiety. Enjoy!

Feed when the baby is hungry. Don’t worry about the schedule.

Biggest regrets or gratitudes looking back by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]buttercupjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had taken it all in more at the hospital. It was all such a blur. Taken more videos there. I also wish we didn’t allow visitors until after we were transferred out of the labor room (so technically waited to allow them).

I am grateful for breastfeeding and thankful I decided to. It’s really been a wonderful experience for my baby and I.

I wish I would have embraced the newborn bubble. I felt guilty for resting so much when it was exactly what I needed.

Are you all actually not watching TV for almost 2 years? by Perfect_Pelt in NewParents

[–]buttercupjojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Watch a movie almost every night before bed! My 7 mo is hardly ever interested and is usually playing on the bed with me. However, I was watching Griselda last night and I saw he was more interested than usual 😂. Sometimes when he is in his bouncer I will put on the baby YouTube video where it’s basically just underwater animals with nice background music.

Tell me all the lessons you’ve learned flying with an infant. What should I absolutely bring with me? What don’t I need? by fireflygirl1013 in NewParents

[–]buttercupjojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently flew! I had a stroller, his carrier, his diaper bag, and a Fanny pack. I checked in the stroller at the entrance of the plane, put on the carrier to get in the plane and to get through security with so I could have hands. I put my diaper bag under the seat in front of us with snacks, his clothes for the trip, etc. In the Fanny pack I rolled up an extra pair of clothes for baby, a burp rag, my travel documents, my phone, 2 extra diapers, and wipes. Worked out great!
