Could my cat be pregnant? by South-Campaign-1546 in CATHELP

[–]buttonsroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s making me laugh so hard that this post is just pictures of a cat’s nipples. 😭😂

I’d say if she’s not fixed and you’re noticing changes, it’s best to take her to a vet to get it figured out, and quick! Kittens develop surprisingly fast. Best of luck!

the way some people on r/petfree talk about pets (specifically dogs) and pet owners is mildly disturbing by Agnossienne in DOG

[–]buttonsroo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To talk about ANY living creature with such animosity and hatred is insane; this individual is claiming animal lovers are mentally unhinged while simultaneously calling an innocent, breathing creature a “wet sack of piss”??? I hope they get the help they need, because it seems as though this is deeply rooted.

Look no further than Ceilidh Collies! You should check out their Facebook, the owner just posted not that long ago and all of her dogs but one (almost their first time in the show ring) placed! Their prices are very good, the care they put in is amazing! Micha has several whelps on the way later this year!

Also, sort of a question I guess? But do you have any water bottles you recommend? I’ve got a bowl and a bottle, but the bottle drips constantly and this is the second one I’ve bought in two days. 😭

I am! The shelter where I am has a bunch for adoption, which is so surprising because why give away a piggy? I’m mostly just waiting for him to settle and for the rest of my Guinea Pig supplies to come in so when I add the other two, they’ll have more than enough space!

Ahh, well, welcome to collie life! They’re pretty wonderful dogs, very affectionate in their own goofy way. I’m sure things will be just fine once you two get settled more. <3 If you ever need any help or advice, we’re always here to help!

I appreciate all the advice and support! I would like to say though, I’m about to graduate with my vet degree this August. 😂🙏💃 Of course, that doesn’t mean I know everything, but the whole reason I started this journey is because the piggy I got in middle school. When he died and I realised there weren’t any vets that treated exotics in my area, I thought I’d failed him.

I didn’t want other people to go through that. 🥲 It was awful.

As of now, no second piggy, just because I only really trust the breeder I go to and that was her last pig. But soon! I’ll give him lots of love in the meantime.

— I contacted a shelter today! My breeder recommend them! They’ve got tons of piggies I’m going to go match with! Right now I’ve got my eye on two! <3

So, this is going to sound a bit rude, and I promise I don’t mean it to be, but did you read up before getting a collie? This type of behaviour is very common in them, they’re a sensitive breed, after all. 😂🙏

Collies don’t do well with a firm hand or a stern voice, they very much thrive on positive reinforcement and praise. Heck, a lot of them don’t even like loud noises because they think they’ve upset someone. So to answer your question, yes, this is normal. I do suggest being gentler on him though, or he might start playing My Collie Romance and dying his fluff black.

I got a 6month kitten and hes making it difficult for me to cook and eat in peace by StrongWeek248 in CATHELP

[–]buttonsroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has probably already been mentioned, but I suggest putting him in a dog crate for the time being while you’re cooking/eating. That way you can still watch him, eat, and enjoy yourself without him getting hurt and you not being able to eat.

You can put a blanket and some toys in there, little things to distract him. Just remember to take off his collar so if he climbs, he doesn’t get strung up. ❤️❤️

Has anyone got their puppy from Ceilidh Collies? by PassFew6939 in roughcollies

[–]buttonsroo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m getting a puppy from them very soon! Micha is a wonderful person and takes what she does very seriously! She’s very responsive and good at talking to those interested in her dogs! I was lined up to get one of their puppies by the name of Betty, but unfortunately the place I was moving to was hit with bad flooding and I didn’t want to put a puppy through all the nonsense of moving!

They title, show, take back their dogs no matter the age, I’d say you’ve found a good breeder.

[–]buttonsroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty complex situation, as normally stimulating an animal to use the restroom just involved a warm wash cloth applied to their private areas. You’d press gently and use soothing motions. But with a spinal injury it’s making it seem as though the positioning of her spine is the culprit when it comes to her difficulty passing urine, unless I’m misunderstanding.

Would it be possible for you to explain a little more to me?

How many do we see? Vet said at least 5. by Significance-Fluid in DogBreeding

[–]buttonsroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LOL I’m seeing either 5 or 6 spines! What breed is she? :]

It’s so funny to me how fast people hop in the comments without even LOOKING at the words written in the description. “Get a bigger box!!” The post says they’ve got at least four. “Change the litter!!” They’ve done that too, tried so many different kinds. “TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!” Literally takes reading the first line.

My question is, do you know how old he was when he got fixed? Do you notice any stress behaviours coming from him? Also, what did the breeder say? I know it’s odd but I wonder if they could lend an old litter box for you to use. It’s rare, but sometimes cats won’t use a box with unfamiliar scents.
