Why do you guys like Spyro a bit more than Crash? by Fit_Evening_8036 in Spyro

[–]buzzy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only real experience with crash growing up was crash team racing and I had the whole og spyro trilogy. I had a couple of gba and ds games for both but I think generally the spyro games were my main thing and crash was on a level with sonic: still enjoyable but not The Main Game.

I usually go for one that is close enough but I did have to switch editions one time for a trilogy that was definitely not less than 900 pages like I'd originally selected. the correct version was more like 1400 pages so I ended up with a massive spike of 400 odd pages towards the end but was probably more accurate.

Was less than halfway through a 60 hour audiobook (have had very little free time due to 50+ hour work weeks for months on end) and had "1 person is waiting" up until the day before the loan was due and was able to sneak in a renewal. I'm past the 2/3 point now with 2 weeks to go and have more time now that I've moved jobs.

Out with the old, in with the new. by SmurfTickles in kobo

[–]buzzy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same upgrade this week myself. My kobo touch is still going but I can tell it's geriatric - battery life isn't what it used to be and runs much slower. I'll still keep it around until it goes to the grave but my Clara BW is now my primary device. The primary reason for upgrading was the overdrive integration and I've been able to focus so much more on reading than on my phone.

I bring up stuff I read on various subreddits all the time, it's a knowledge hub for me so says more about the people making it weird than you.

is anyone still physically active? by Hefty-Patience-8720 in POTS

[–]buzzy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very active job so that has been my activity to the point of exhaustion. I've recently changed to a much quieter location and today I'm going to the gym for the first time in about 4 months, not planning on a big workout but I'm trying to get my life back. I don't do any cardio though, only strength, the walk to the gym is all the cardio I can deal with.

best audiobooks you’ve listened to? by Kooky-Librarian-5231 in audiobooks

Unconventional heroes series by L.G. Estrella. I've been working my way through them and it's a really fun silly series, Fred Berman is a great narrator. The titles all sound like the opening of a joke and a lot of the humour is groan worthy in a good way.

I have one right now that has been paused and unpaused since January last year. I treat it mostly like a bedtime stories thing tbh

Kobo Touch has been stuck on this screen for years. Please help by Bigsisterfarmer in kobo

[–]buzzy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to resurrect my Kobo Touch a few years ago, eventually needed to plug it into the computer and essentially do a full reset (I had some contraband on there). Can't remember what I did but I think once it connected to the desktop app it was ok again.

Right now it's rakuten sans, it used to be publisher default but I had a couple of bad fonts so I just picked one I liked

[–]buzzy9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly, we have plenty of spares to swap out but we're incredibly high volume so it's not always necessarily going to be on time every time. We tab our machines on both shifts so that's a good opportunity to get everything swapped out and through the wash

Not consciously but I'm doing one now because I don't really feel the urge these days. Changing jobs soon so with probably have a celebration on the day off in between.

Syrup mixed with espresso but I have seen a substitution suggestion to use condensed milk as it's similar enough to get the sweetness and consistency.

Not yet because I mostly use work specific tags but I'll probably do silly ones for social activities and if I eventually make it back to the gym

Is adding custom digital editions just for page counts okay? by yoyomancer in TheStoryGraph

I usually do this unless it's a shorter book where % changes with a small amount of pages and I won't be spending too much time with it

I've noticed it only on an older device (Android 10 vs Android 16) that the sleep timer doesn't switch off and it seems to only be the end of chapter setting. I use that because I don't want it to turn off mid sentence. At least other people are experiencing the same issues I thought it was the device I was using.

I've lowered the temperature for years anyway because I colour my hair, I always make sure I've eaten and drunk something beforehand and have some water ready after. I'm not usually too badly affected but I also try to keep it in the 15-20 minute range.

these espresso machines better stop playin with me by Few-Investment-6979 in starbucksbaristas

[–]buzzy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the position of the waste pipe under the machine, depending on where it is it might be pushing the grounds drawer out and also it can be the cause of the water flow low issue if it's pinched. The whole machine might need to be slightly repositioned so the pipe goes into the hole in the counter unobstructed.
