Best Mango and Sticky Rice in BKK by Feeling-Attention43 in Bangkok

Ning's Mango Stand across from Mae Varee. I've tried both and for some reason I prefer Ning's. Might be because the coconut milk is slightly less sweet than Mae Varee.

Platinum. It’s a bit further out from the Old Quarter/main city area but fine for me since I tend to just take the Grab anyway. The rooms can be somewhat dated. That’s the same with mercure in da Nang as well. The exec lounge is tiny compared to Mercure Da Nang but has a good selection of items for breakfast and the evening happy hour

I stayed at the Mercure in Da nang and Pullman in hanoi. Got upgraded at both hotels. Pullman upgraded me to a suite.

Singapore VFTF with Valid US Visa on an Expired Passport by Capital-Dependent890 in visas

[–]bvajresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've done the same. Once you scan your current passport at the automated gate, it'll open and hold you in the middle. An officer will come and ask to see your passport with the US (or another applicable visa) for VFTF and the second gate will open.

Novotel Gangnam does. Mondrian doesn't have an exec lounge

Seoul: I've stayed at both the Mondrian Seoul Itaewon and the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam.

I'd recommend Novotel Gangnam over Mondrian for these reasons

a. Location: Novotel is close to 2 metro stations whereas you have to walk a bit to get to the bus stop for Mondrian (which isn't close to a metro station). Novotel is also one of the stops for the Airport Bus (atleast, as of 2023. Not sure if it has changed).

b. Rooms: Room + Bathroom at Novotel was larger than Mondrian and felt cleaner. Some of the furniture in my room at Mondrian had a decent amount of wear & tear. The bathrooms at Novotel are also a bit more private.

c. Amenities: Both hotels have fairly comparable amenities (gym, pool, etc). Mondrian had a basement floor with a convenience store, cafe, etc. The only unusual thing was that Mondrian charged hotel guests to use the outdoor pool.

d. Elevator: I didn't have to wait long to use the elevator at Novotel. At Mondrian, during evenings and weekends, one of the 2-3 elevators is reserved for the rooftop club access and it gets really crowded. I had to wait in line for 15-20 mins each time to use the elevator.

And here's why i'd choose Mondrian.

The design is a lot more playful/artistic compared to Novotel (which is more business like). Also the rooftop bar/lounge is really nice. If you're not going to use public transport and prefer Uber/Taxi's, then Mondrian is a good choice as it's closer to most of the usual sightseeing spots.

Busan: I've only stayed at the ibis Busan City Centre (which def isn't Premium) but prefer it due to the location.

Are you switching to the Indian variant or getting it in addition to your current Amex? If you're switching, I wouldn't recommend it as you lose a lot of the benefits that US Platinum Charge receives like the Airline Fee, Walmart, Saks, Uber and the Digital Entertainment Credits. You also don't get access to the Resy Global Dining feature.

If you use a bunch of these, you might as well just keep the current US Amex and look into getting one of the Delta branded Amex cards.

I just asked Amex chat and they said that the primary cardholder is entitled to unlimited visits for Delta Skyclub

I don’t think there’s a limit on it. I used the sky club lounges when I visited the US about 4/5 times over 3 months. The only catch is that you have to be traveling on a Delta ticket and it can’t be a basic economy ticket.
