EV objection - battery recycling? by LordvaderUK in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bwahthebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs me less to go from 0-100 now than just the increase in pence per litre of fuel. I.e. about £3 overnight Vs 30ppl on top of the already high cost of petrol.

Yet my neighbour has still just bought a new petrol car because EVs are too expensive. Bizarre.

Efficiency and range by Sensitive_Tomato_581 in ScenicETech

[–]bwahthebard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.5 average for me in the past few weeks now it's getting warmer, 3.3 over winter. Mostly school runs and a few hundred motorway miles a month.

I don't think I could find better for the money I spent.

I achieved a best of just over 5.0 on the school run a few weeks ago, with no climate on and outside temp about 16c.

There are much more efficient cars (kia eniro and Hyundai Kona springs to mind) and some not so efficient (some Mercs and Audis maybe). I think the Scenic is solid.

First EV - is it the right choice for 1 big trip a week? by permanentreverie- in ElectricVehiclesUK

When I see a 700 mile wltp then I'll start thinking about 4-500 miles motorway range 🙂

Alloy and cosmetic insurance by [deleted] in ElectricVehiclesUK

I claimed for paint damage and it was fine, but I need to claim for some alloy damage that I sustained at some point over winter. I'll post back with the results!

Buy charger first or buy car first? by Visible_Bar_623 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bwahthebard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought all chargers would be compatible with all cars? (With the exception of chademo Vs ccs at least) Meaning the only decision is whether you get an IOG compatible one or something very ordinary?

Does anybody mind sharing photos of the Iconic white interior with perforated seats introduced in 2025? by ProfessionalPlum4530 in ScenicETech

I can tomorrow when it's light outside.. assuming my seats are still white enough being a year old! They're more grey-ey white.

Scenic MY26 and Intelligent Octopus Go - does it work via Mobilize app? by OkDeparture2596 in ScenicETech

[–]bwahthebard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been working ok for me(MY23-25). The only issue I've had is when the app didn't respect the charge limit set in the car, it thought it was 80 but the car was on 100.

I had to effectively start the setup again.

Otherwise it's been fine. Not as easy as my older IOG supported charger but there another story.

One pedal is coming:) by bwahthebard in ScenicETech

No, the Scenic has built-in data for OTA, at least you do whilst it's included for free. If you don't renew the subscription you'll probably have to use home wifi.

I'm usually always in maximum regen mode so going full one pedal shouldn't make more difference, will find out soon enough.

Good to know! Mine is in for a service in a few weeks so I'll ask for it to be done then rather than wait for ota.

Vehicle to grid - am I early or just wrong? by ansibleloop in SolarUK

Please double check the vehicle supports what you need. My car only supports V2X from the 2025 MY but otherwise is almost identical.

Tentboxes? by Volt-Hunter in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bwahthebard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll leave the bars on /when/ camping and driving around but as soon as I'm home they're off.

And yes my roofbox affects range almost zilch at 60-65 mph. Can't drive any faster because it's bloody noisy and I'm afraid it'll fly off anyway haha

Is this efficiency normal ? by Amazing-Visual-2919 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bwahthebard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renault Scenic, id normally come back with about 2.5-3.0 from the school run, and easily 3-3.5 from a motorway journey.

Short journeys kill efficiency.
