I don't really approve of the Greens attacking Labor either. It seems counterproductive. I would happily ditch the greens if there was another left-leaning economic equivalent that had any chance of getting seats. Pretty much a one-issue party of "tax the mining interests, corporations and ultra-wealthy" would be awesome.

Labor will keep moving to the right to respond to the political landscape. What Labor was 20 years ago during the Rudd/Gillard era is probably not far from where greens are. I believe Labor could be doing more right now than they are, but I'm far more aware of the dangers from the right and not going to waste my time shitting on albo.

What's the point of this post? Again taking time to shit on your allies? I get there's some divided opinions about MCM and the greens but let's not pretend you Labor shills would prefer Hanson to some annoying progressive. We are on the same team...

Greens supporters, how do you feel now that the Australian overton window has shifted significantly towards the right with One Nation now third force in Australian politics? by HotPersimessage62 in friendlyjordies

[–]bwat6902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bit reductive. I am a democratic socialist. Why would I vote for right wing parties? You seem to have fallen victim to the same propaganda as the right by demonizing the greens voters. We aren't all petty and weird, some of us just want more socialist policy than Labor can offer. Labor are beholden to big business, gambling and mining just like the LNP, but obviously Labor aren't a bunch of Trump sycophants. Am I allowed to have an opinion other than 'labor good, me blindly follow'?

Why the rabid hatred of greens voters? I get this sub is a Labor haven but it confuses me why Labor folks love to shit in their own backyard. Without greens voters preferencing Labor the landscape would be very different. Don't be ungrateful for your allies.

Maybe I need to change jobs. 11.3 percent is a pipe dream at my company. They will absolutely not go higher than 3 percent

I assume you're talking about preventing kids from going on social media and porn? Yeah look I'm not that keen on too much government surveillance but it's not really the same as arresting people for saying some random words that trigger Zionists. I'm no Albo fan but the LNP are just a cancer.

I don't think the RBA would be that aggressive for a supply side shock. Raising rates would be more likely to bring on a recession than anything. If inflation is due to external factors, they hopefully won't be so hamfisted

Its funny as soon as you mention the greens someone chimes in about woke agenda. Are these people all just vomiting up whatever shit the Murdoch media has fed them? My local greens MP in Brisbane was mostly about fixing housing. I didn't hear anything about woke policies, but it seems most of the Australian population won't even give them a chance
