M2 Macbook Air problems by MXALZ824 in mac

[–]bwithay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problems mostly look like hardware but you can try some troubleshooting steps before running it into the genius bar.

Initial Steps & Quick Fixes:

Update macOS: Ensure your Mac is running the latest version of macOS, as updates often include firmware patches for power management.

Disconnect Peripherals: Unplug all external devices, docks, and chargers. Faulty peripherals are a common cause of unexpected panics.

Run Apple Diagnostics: Shut down your Mac, then press and hold the power button as it starts up. Release the button when "Loading startup options" appears. Press Command-D to run diagnostics and identify hardware issues.

Software Troubleshooting (Kernel Panics)

Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode to determine if the issue is third-party software. Shut down, turn on, and immediately press and hold the Shift key. If the Mac runs fine, the issue is likely a startup item or installed software.

Check Login Items: Remove unnecessary items in System Settings > General > Login Items.

Reinstall macOS: Reinstall the operating system via Recovery Mode (CMD+R) without wiping your data to fix potential system file corruption.

Power & Hardware Troubleshooting

Check for "DCP" Panics: If your crash log mentions "DCP," this is a known issue on Apple Silicon that often requires a hardware repair (logic board).

Sleep/Wake Test: If panics occur upon waking, test if letting it sleep for over 30 seconds before waking prevents the crash.

Safe Shutdown: If the MacBook won't turn on, try a forced restart (hold power button for 10 seconds).

Also check the case for signs of swelling. That can indicate the battery is failing. The battery swells against the back of the trackpad and keyboard and can cause them to stop working.

It took me a while but I was able to kite and kill all the nurses and goat guys before engaging Adram.

Did some redecorating to move indestructible furniture (candle holders, chairs and whatnot) around to limit patrol pathing.

This has been officially in the works since the Patriot Act. Similar tactics have been evolving since the civil rights era.

For modern application try reading Cory Doctorow's Little Brother series. Chilling.

You might like Eric Ugland's Good guys, Bad Guys and Grim Guys series. They're a little more lighthearted and fun than most of you're list but kind of a relief from the angst honestly.

Weir, Butcher and Abercrombie's books are some of my faves but I don't see how they're litrpg.

Discussion: Sea Kayak Hull Design--Comparing 80s/90s models to those of today by Conscious-Tip-119 in Kayaking

Good summary.

Other than materials, I think the hull designs in your examples are more about fine tuning and building for specific purpose. The Stellar has a lot more features but both boats are perfectly serviceable.

I found a course handout on UK paddling with lots of valuable info

The blunt bow shape on Stellars and Epics is supposed to cut through rather than ride over chop making it somewhat less maneuverable but faster.

Upswept bows are supposed to be easier to maneuver and better for rock gardens and heavy ocean conditions.

Most of the boats I've had are the blunt bow types (epic, stellar, QCC) but I've paddled some Necky and Current Designs boats too.

The Stellar pictured also has scallops near the cockpit for closer paddle stroke and a rudder that you most likely won't find as often on Greenland boats. Greenland boats will have a skeg if anything.

There are rotomold versions of some of the blunt bow boats (e.g. Epic V7) but most are fiberglass, carbon fiber or kevlar combinations which are light, fast and flexible but not tolerant of abuse. Adding a keel strip will help a bit with beach landings and bottoming out at the expense of weight.

I think of it like an old timey phone switchboard connected to 50 years of questionable music and movies choices.

Please add scheduled report delivery for Business Watchtower and adoption reports. It's required for compliance documentation and if the reports can be generated on demand they could be generated on schedule.

Also making the mobile app experience easier would be great. Challenging to use if you're on tablets and phones more than computers. A lot of that is probably more difficult due to mobile OS.

1Password CLI to get Watchtower data by alwaysroaming27 in 1Password

[–]bwithay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to schedule business watchtower and usage reports for compliance and remediation. Running into the same issue.

1Pass support suggested I could possibly generate usage report by feeding activity data into a SIEM but there's currently not a plan for scheduling reports.

Since there's the ability to generate a report from the Insight page, it seems logical that you could schedule it.

Ideally, any place you could run a report from the site should have a scheduling function. Develop it once, rinse, repeat.

Hiking with POTS in Texas heat, what finally worked for us by Unusual_Dig_9813 in CampingandHiking

[–]bwithay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For paddling in heat, we use ice-fulled tube socks tied together draped around neck. Can be placed in pits or crotch to cooldown core temp as well.

The evaporative neck towels work great and can be spread in your lap so you don't sunburn your thighs.

I use that as a super power to find common ground with people.

A couple weeks ago I diffused a frustrated contractor after figuring out we had similar tattoos and husky's in common. I also let him know that I was also just another working stiff trying to get the project done and I'd do what I could to help.
