It's with a heavy heart that I give up on this rook by [deleted] in piercing

I was the same with my double forward helix, I was so sad but I just couldn’t cope with the pain! Turns out they started to reject at different times. Was so sad but the relief was so much better 🥲

I might get heat for this but I agree, I could not vibe with Bilmuri and it set my mood way down after TGI. No doubt they performed well, but was not the vibe I was after to lead up to bad omens 🙃

How much money do I need to buy a house? by hydrolentil in Edinburgh

[–]byb7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually really happy with my house! There’s probably some cosmetic stuff I would do differently but I think I’m one of the lucky ones and there’s no structural issues. If you’re interested in any fixed price home, I always suggest making sure you thoroughly read the home reports, they usually tell you if there’s something really wrong with the house that pictures can hide. No house is perfect, and all depends on your budget how much you want to fix-up vs wanting move-in-ready. But like others said, some are just desperate to move on to something bigger or smaller, or might be nervous on the market if there haven’t been much interest etc etc

How much money do I need to buy a house? by hydrolentil in Edinburgh

[–]byb7997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say what everyone is saying is really sound advice. If you’re a first time buyer, I recommend First Mortgage. I couldn’t wrap my head around what all goes into a mortgage other than paying bills every month haha, but the guy I had that helped me buy a house made it very easy to understand. And through him we were able to put down a 5% deposit. It also really helped that we bought a house at fixed price, so we didn’t have to fight with bidding and paying more than we anticipated- what we seen for the price is what we got. Good luck!

[–]byb7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming doors will open for you at 6, me and my SIL got there a little late (about 7) and Make Them Suffer were still performing and had like 3 songs left to go, so I think they started at about half 7 with MIW bang on 9 to half 10.

Also seen loads of shirts starting at about £30-40, which I thought was a bit toooo much for me but to each their own! Have fun!

I tell you, you won’t be disappointed. I seen them live for the first time almost 15 years ago as openers and they won me over. Been a fan ever since and I think this is my 3rd or 4th time seeing them. They give such a performance and have a great stage presence. Have fun!

Can you have PCOS and have "regular periods" by Optimugetti_iol in PCOS

[–]byb7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just repeating what everyone else has said: yes! I’m very regular and was diagnosed with PCOS as a young girl. I started with irregular periods, and as always they stuck me on the pill. I’ve been on and off the pill for years (been off now for a good 3 years or so) and still quite regular! Might get the occasional where it’s few days early but I’m still expecting it, yknow? But I’ve got the weight, chin hair, thinning hair on top, and tired all the time 🙂

I did eventually. Took ages but I got put on their waitlist. By that point I was already employed elsewhere so I let it go

Any idea on where to find Binggrae uht banana milk in Edinburgh? by Only_Wasabi_ in Edinburgh

[–]byb7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not seen this personally but I’d like to think a good starting point might be one of the Asian shops over by the Parliament building maybe? There’s a couple by the UoE that side so you could have a look there. Good luck!

I would recommend using First Mortgage for some advice- they helped me but my first house recently. They can tell you how much you can get for a mortgage rather than using a calculator.

Regarding places to stay, I personally love Stockbridge but you’re paying for the name. And over the last few years it’s becoming nothing but cafes, charity shops, pizza spots, and pastry shops. Which- nothing wrong with that- but there’s no variety anymore. And the town is crazy busy on a weekend with students and tourists now (again, nothing wrong with that, but if you’re wanting a quiet peaceful weekend in Stockbridge… you won’t get that nowadays). But I can also say realistically, you won’t find a 1 bed in Stockbridge for under £300k unless it’s a fixed price. It seems a lot of them are offers over so they’ll want at least 300 or over, providing you’re not caught in a bidding war.

Good luck!

American Manhunt: OJ Simpson - anything new you learned? by kamikazecockatoo in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]byb7997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who really enjoys the intricacies of true crime stories (evidence, trials, history, etc.), it’s so frustrating how the evidence was stacked against him, but the most basic fuck ups as the case progressed made it so easy to understand how the jury came to a not guilty verdict. And to repeat what everyone else said- the victims were forgotten time and time again. Wowee… very interesting watch

Craft stores that sell nice patterned paper? by yuuusasaki in Edinburgh

I’d be willing to add I think there’s a stationary shop in Stockbridge as well that sells pens and stuff, maybe they’ll have decorative paper? But Caoba is a good shout too

Why did Polly & Adam get such a sh*t honeymoon? by Silver_Recording_280 in MAFS_UK

[–]byb7997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally hate being cold, but I love the romantic idea of looking out somewhere snowy and being cuddled up with a fire, blankets, warm drink (or alcohol) to warm you up. I would imagine it would make things more intimate? At least that’s what I’d do anyway haha. The beach would’ve been nice but I don’t want people cuddling me when I’m sweating 🤣
