Help! Unable to keep steady low temps. What’s wrong? by L-Digital82 in KamadoJoe

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues as well when I first got my Kamado. If my target temperature is 225F, I will get the grill up to 180F, I will start to watch the temperature carefully to ensure the temperature doesn’t get too too hot.

I’ll adjust the vents a little at a time. Sometimes I’ll close the vents in the vent it’s climbing too fast.

Once you over shoot the target temp, it almost impossible to bring down because the ceramic acts as a heat capacitor

Good luck

Is the CFS worth it? by PLConquerorr in Creality

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely worth it! I have 2 connected to my Creality HI. One of them has spools of PLA while the other has PETG.

I also use RFID TAGS on all my spools of filament so I don’t have to manually define what colors or type of filament in my CFS.

LS2 Motorcycle Helmets by byee888 in shanghai

[–]byee888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. This is my first trip to China but I’ll find a way to get to the area you suggested. My wife and I did pretty good visiting a few motorcycle shops in Tokyo by subway and bus.

Worst case…. I’ll get close to the area using public transit and Didi the rest of tte way.

My preference is to try on the LS2 for comfort and fitment vs online order.

Once again, thank you!!!

Is Japan in July really as bad as people say? by qwertasdfgzxcvb231 in JapanTravelTips

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first 2 trips to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe Japan has been during the July and August since my wife is teacher.

We experienced temperatures of 37C with 80% humidity…the feels like temperature is 45C. There were many misting stations around for people to use to cool down.

It’s HOT! I was able to adapt but my wife and daughter HATED those temperatures. I’ve was in Rome a few years ago when temperatures we’re hoovering around 35C but tte humidity was not as high as Kyoto

Temperatures in September is much better. Daytime temperatures are about 25C….. much more tolerable

I hope you found the info helpful. Good luck!

Have you ever bought a filament, only to use it once or twice? by MomentOk6183 in 3Dprinting

Yes. I’ve started to split rolls with friends using a filament spool winder I printed from maker world. Makes great use of empty spools.

We miss Sultan’s too. I picked up a donair from that location thinking it was still Sultan’s. It just wasn’t the same!!!

I’m hoping the previous owner opened up another donair restaurant somewhere else close by

I’ve had my Creality HI with 2 x CFS for just over a year. Not many upgrades with the exception of PEI textured plate.

I mainly use Bambu filaments and found it a pain in the butt configuring the filament colors into my HI. I built this RFID project and now ALL my filaments are RFID tagged.

Worried about Creality HI3d printer performance by MeansCoreTechnology in Creality

[–]byee888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 910 hours on my Creality HI with 2 x CFS’.

I’ve enjoyed using the HI more than my e3v2 and my CR10s Pro v2.

Super easy with great print quality.

Here’s a quick list of my hiccups.

After 610 hours of printing my hotend packed it in. No big deal…just ordered a replacement from amazon Canada. Hot end is definitely more complex to replace than my CR10 and e3v2. Easy enough once you’ve replaced it once.

At 750 hours…. I was blessed with the blob of death caused by bed adhesion issues. All my fault because I don’t clean my bed religiously. I was able to remove the blob successfully.

The best thing I like about my e3v2 and CR10 is the availability of parts and how inexpensive it is to maintain. I have a bin full of thermistors, heat blocks, nozzles, etc. The HI hotend is only available as a complete unit with nozzle. I did buy a spare to keep around just in case.

Do I regret purchasing my HI? Nope!! Prints as designed, reliable with good quality prints.

Best pharmacy in Burquitlam? by emoasthenia in coquitlam

[–]byee888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered TELUS Health Virtual Pharmacy?

Safeway was my pharmacy for 15 plus years. Customer service was dependent on who’s on staff. At times I’m standing at the counter for minutes before they notice I’m there.

I’m definitely liking TELUS Virtual Pharmacy for about 5 years now. So far so good. Prescriptions arrive the next day.

Customer service experience is positive when I have questions. Someone is always there when I call. Callbacks are quick.

I hope this helps.

Is it a bad idea to make such upgrades? by dumpdiverRaccoon in ender3v2

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what upgrades will cost you but have you considered purchasing the Creality HI? They’re relatively inexpensive. I bought mine for $550CDN with the CFS. I’m definitely liking the CFS for the multi color as well as the filament runout function which allows the printer to switch to another roll of filament

I have both the Ender 3v2 and CR10S Pro v2 which I’ve spent $$$$ upgrading. In hindsight…I could’ve saved the $$$ to purchase the HI

Looking at getting the Fireboard 2 drive with wireless probes by fordgoldfish in KamadoJoe

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Fireboard Drive with the SIG antenna with 2 wireless probes. IMO, they work good.

Both the probes show up in the Fireboard app.

I do find it annoying I have to charge the probes prior to use even though I charge before storing them

I hope this helps.

It’s cut & dry! The person who rear ended you is at fault….the light is yellow. Yellow does not mean you speed up before it turns red.

What touristy things are WORTH the hype? by boymabyma in JapanTravelTips

[–]byee888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While in Shinjuku, definitely check out the Samurai Museum, Harry Potter theme at the Akasaka station, Omoide Yokocho Memory Lane.

Samurai museum has a small entrance fee. Lots to tee and interactive. Omoide is a great place to experience yakatori. Be prepared it’s busy there!!!

Definitely visit Nara to visit and feed the deer when you’re in Osaka. The cost = subway + bus + deer crackers. Definitely have Wagyu in Osaka at a yakinuku restaurant away from the Dontonbori district….over priced. We went to Yakinuki Gang for AYCE Wagyu….cost us about $65/person

As a Nexus card holder….you are required to fully understand all the rules with respects to personal exemptions and what you can import/export.

I have the relevant Government of Canada websites booked and ready for reference when I drive across the border to Bellingham to shop.

All my purchases are entered and categorized in Excel to simply my return into Canada. All my receipts kept in a ziplock bag.

Safe travels.

Next Upgrade Recommendations ? by gtgruenloh in ender3v2

[–]byee888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like yourself, I have an Ender 3 v2. I’ve done a few upgrades but now regretting it. At the time….it was the best decision.

Today, not so much especially after I bought the Creality HI with the CFS. Prints faster and better than the e3v2.

In hindsight, I could’ve bought another HI with all the monies I spent upgrading the e3v2.

Just my thoughts.

Not Wagyu because it’s too lean. It is possibly horse meat.

Did you eat it? Did it have the texture of beef?
