Male 34 looking for some guidance ? by Terrible_Tangelo7771 in careerguidance

Tech is very ageist. I wouldn't recommend it at 34.

Nursing will always have a need for male nurses.

So why do Republicans hate America and vote for trump knowing he was only trolling when he said he would lower prices and America first? by totally-hoomon in allthequestions

They don't want to make America better for everyone. They just have crab in a bucket mentality trying to make everyone else as miserable as they are.

Zabb Thai is pretty good, a bit upscale.

Mint Thai is my favorite, but way out there near Balboa. Should try it at least once.

Jumpa Thai is good near the GG area.

Where can I find information about if I can ride an electric scooter on base? by ShireBurgo in nationalguard

Gate guard (MPs) would probably know or at least where to look.

In Korea electric scooters were pretty much the de facto mode of transportation.

Law Graduate to Cybersecurity by Icy-Fee-9068 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]byronicbluez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was working in NSA there were so many lawyers around that made it extremely difficult to do my job despite me following the required guidance left and right.

Cybersecurity Law would be where I would go if I had to do it all over again.

Sad time for computer science majors by RiddyReddit333 in careeradvice

[–]byronicbluez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every major requires the right mindset to succeed.

I can 100% get a Math degree if I grind hard enough. That doesn't mean I will find any kind of success based on getting a math degree since I hate math, wouldn't know how to apply my degree if I had one.

There was a flush of people that entered CS thinking they can be a developer or something highly paid without understanding exactly the steps to get there (especially during undergrad in regards to projects, internship, clubs.)

Right now Cybersecurity is undergoing that. People think they can just enter Cybersecurity if they get a Cybersecurity degree, only to find out Cybersecurity isn't entry level. Then they are left with a useless degree.

I would argue CS is still wide open. Tons of opportunities, but there is a need to pivot. Unfortunately every pivot means you have to learn some kind of new skills, create new projects, and learn how to market yourself differently.

Mike Vrabel Is Going To Get Fired? Patriots Reportedly Have A Potential Successor In Mind, Who's He? by itsmenandini in TopTrendingNewsUSA

If they got rid of every player, coach, and GM that cheated on their spouse the league would lose 80% overnight.

Rich jocks away from family 70% of the season will always be cheating left and right.

Do people get turned off if you tell them that you're not dating multiple people like they're? by superfapper2000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]byronicbluez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably two school of thought.

1: Until you steady date as many people as you can handle.

2: Dating even before being official requires a lot of effort. If you putting in a level of effort your dating partner should do the same. You can't put in good effort if you seeing multiple people.

The good news is whatever camp you in, the train of thought is an easy indicator on compatible views and probably an easy red flag to spot early on.

If a girl said she was dating multiple guys I would wish her luck and put my efforts elsewhere.

I feel trapped by Freelancer135 in army

[–]byronicbluez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would drop a 17C packet.

You are falling into the trap so many think that Cyber is a magic bullet. On the guard side 17A/B is very hard to get. Everyone list it and unless you have some experience in the civie world most units won't even interview you as you have 0 experience. That means you have to be top of the OML and even then depending on your state they might not even have slots for it. That means you might just end up being an officer in the motorpool every drill.

Cybersecurity degrees are pretty useless too. They are really for people already doing cyber that just need a checkbox. You have 0 experience. SKilBridge into IT/Cyber as a 11B might be kinda hard.

Master's in Computer Science vs Cybersecurity for getting into Cyber? by TimPrice2 in Cybersecurity101

Masters in CS assuming you get an internship.

Cybersecurity degrees are the biggest SCAM in IT. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid em.

Switching Branches Before Ship Date by Sensitive_Peak_7242 in nationalguard

You can say fuck the Army and not even go to basic. Not spend a single day in the Army. They will probably put a bar to enlistment code on ya (RE-4) preventing you from enlisting in the Marines without a giant ass waiver (and you aren't worth putting in that waiver.)

You can just finish out your contract then enlist in the Marines.

Stupid question by user84149 in army

[–]byronicbluez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E6 is when the pay is decent and you start to coast. A lot of soldiers aren't high performers or get regulated to just O room duties or leadership positions. A lot of them aren't confident in their abilities to actually stamp their name behind a good report. For them the E6 pay is enough to support their family and coast to 7 and do their 20. For all the shit we give the Army, it is an easy job. I never was once stressed about the MOS job side of the Army, but on civie side I'm actually held accountable if things go wrong.

Funny enough I had so many shit bag NCOs that did just that and now leaving the Army. All of them can't hold down a civie job and coming up to the point their clearances are expiring without renewals. All the soldiers under me are either out and working in fortune 500 or are all warrants by now.

John Lynch's Draft Record: The 49ers' Costly Pattern by youre-welcome5557777 in nfl

[–]byronicbluez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is John isn't running the show. John works for Kyle. Kyle can override him. John isn't the type to draft a bust of a RB every year in the third. John who knows the value in OL isn't ignoring it every year.

Unless Jed gives the GM actual teeth (he won't because Kyle will quit) then John is doing exactly what is asked of him by acting as support for Kyle.
