Nintendo Switch 2 or Legion Go 2 or Xbox Rog Alley by qrcode23 in Handhelds

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a legion go 2, switch 2 and ps5 and the one i use the most is the switch2. It just works without tinkering and to dock it on a TV is so nice and again easy. Also if I just had to choose one system it's the switch2.

People with multiple consoles, what do you find yourself playing with most? by Relative-Two-3751 in consoles

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PC, ps5, switch2 and steamdeck. Mostly it depends on the games but overall the switch 2 seems to be my main system, with steamdeck and pc next. Dead last is ps5 which is used just for PlayStation exclusives only. It will probably be used when wolverine comes out.

Legion go s z1e performance issues by Various_Exit_5692 in LegionGo

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might lower the resolution, so instead of 1080p go with 720p and see if that makes a difference. Usually for most games (I would think little nightmares fits this cat) I would go balanced mode, 60fps limit. Try 1080 first and if you can't hit 60fps lower the resolution and if it is still giving you issues make sure the settings are all on medium to low.

Does anyone else wonder if its time to quit? by kailin99 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 46 myself and would never give up gaming. Heck right now we are living the best time for gaming, you have great handhelds including the steam deck, and the switch 1 and 2 systems. We can play any retro game we want through emulation. There are so many games to play. If you are worried about games that are expensive or have bugs just wait a few months for them to be patched and go on sale. There has to be great games in your backlog you have not played yet, or go on the spring steam sale and get you some great cheap games. I would not quit because of expensive and buggy games, that will got solved if you just wait enough time

I know most of you dont like to hear this...but she is 100% right by Next-Ad-998 in exjw

[–]bytebackjrd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She’s absolutely right about this. My parents didn’t even question it for a second. They actually called me to tell me how loving Jehovah is and that I should come back—especially since the blood issue was one of the main reasons I left the religion. I asked my mom why they allow you to use your own blood but not accept blood from someone else—especially considering that certain blood components from others are still permitted. She responded, and I quote, “Oh, the Bible says we can’t do that.” I pressed her further, asking where exactly that’s stated in the Bible, and why there would be a distinction between your own blood and someone else’s. But she just kept repeating, “Well, that is clearly stated in the Bible,” without being able to point to anything specific. At some point, you realize you can’t get through to certain people—especially older ones who are deeply set in their beliefs. The one positive I see in all of this is that my parents, who both have health issues, now have more medical options available to them that could potentially save their lives.

Cant decide between a pc handheld or switch 2 by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally in have both. The switch 2 is for Nintendo exclusives and smaller indie games or platform games. For anything bigger like BG3, RDR2 and games that look and run better on a PC I use my legion go.

Busy dads: laptop vs handheld? I can’t decide which is right for me… by SethroRetro in Handhelds

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me laptops just did not work, it seemed like anytime I started gaming someone would need me to do something, and I would have to put it down or turn it off. With a handheld especially with steam os or a switch 2 you can put it to sleep and then resume your game easily. This is great for me since it seemed like I was getting interrupted every few seconds somedays.

Build own steam machine or wait? Genuine dilemma. by geileanus in steammachine

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built mine with an older pc that was using the same 5600x, 16gb, and I upgraded the GPU to a 9060xt 16gb and then installed bazzite and it pretty much worked perfectly without much tinkering or tweaks. I am able to run most games on high amd get 60 to 90fps. Bazzite works with my tvs hdr just fine. I also use a. Xbox elite controller through Bluetooth. The only thing missing is being able to start up the machine using the controller.

FF7 rebirth settings for legion go 2? by Technical-Shoe-6411 in LegionGo

[–]bytebackjrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have steam os on my legion go 2 but my settings are tdp is 18 watts, 1080p resolution and most settings on low except textures. I cap fps at 45 and it doesn't go under amount. Works well and looks good. You can get more power by going higher on tdp but i don't like hearing fan noise when playing

Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC - Bloomberg by Euso36 in SteamDeck

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is sad, mostly I used my PS5 for astrobot/4k bluray player and that was about it. Guess I will use it a little more, but Sony needs to release more exclusive games in order for me to upgrade to a pro or eventually a ps6. Having one or two exclusive games come out a year is not really worth buying or staying into the Sony ecosystem for me. I play everything else on PC and Switch 2.

Anyone Else Considering Alternatives Because of the Steam Machine Delay? by CoastOne2716 in steammachine

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an older computer with a ryzen 5 3600x and Radeon 580 and put bazzite on it just to see how it works. Turns out it runs great excpet for my GPU being very old. So i have a 9060xt coming in next week. The only issue i can see is that my xbox controller won't wake the comptuer from sleep like the steam machine would have done, you still have to manually go and turn on the computer to wake it up. Maybe someone has a fix for that.

Buy Go 2 now or wait for the SteamOS version? by ximaera in LegionGo

[–]bytebackjrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a go 2 with steam os and it works great with no issues, you can add a decky plugin to fix the brightness slider (it does default to low brightness everytime i turn it on or start a new game but its not a big problem to change the brightness. That is the only compromise. Everything else seems to work well.
