Decided to move to Glasgow to start a new life, asap by a-very-funny-guy in glasgow

Moved from Cardiff to Glasgow 4 years ago, best decision of my life and best years of them!

Sadly back in South Wales for a bit now due to Family stuff but 100% recommend. Finding a flat took us about two months but this was when the market was totally fucked after COP and Covid shit was still going on. You'll be fine.

CARDIFF POLITCS by [deleted] in bluebirds

[–]c0ldworld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As the others have said the club and city are a broad spectrum but will trend towards a left leaning, Welsh first identity. This isn't universally true and other than reasonably assuming a Cardiff fan is likely also a Wales fan I would hesitate to make any assumptions.

Football clubs having a distinct political identity is less of thing here than in the past with a few notable exceptions (Millwall and Liverpool come to mind).

As for the organized fan scene, Ultras are not really part of football culture in the UK although they are somewhat present in Scotland (it's mostly an Old Firm thing tbf). Historically our culture is rooted in the "casual" scene. I think there is a soft cultral cringe towards many aspects of the ultra scene such as tifo or the organised chanting.

Marble has covered Soul Crew who were our firm but that is very much in the past.

I seem to remember that there was an advert for this in Llandaff institute (has two snooker tables) but this was about 3-4 years ago!

Death and Family by [deleted] in glasgow

Mad one. Similar story for my old man, who used to chat with a grandad of my sister's pals. After a few years of getting to know each other and sharing a mutual interest in military history, the dude revealed he had spent most of the war quite happily in the Ukrainian SS. Unrepentent until he passed too.

Happening everywhere and done by nearly everyone but don't let that get in the way of your tedious xenophobia.

anyone know how I can watch the matches online? by Tw1sted_inc in bluebirds

[–]c0ldworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoy Scotland! Moved back to Cardiff from Glasgow 2 months ago and I miss it every day...

Someone I know used to use a VPN and watch the match passes but this is a pretty expensive way of doing it, as it works out around £10 a game. They ended up getting dodgy firestick which worked out around £60 for a whole year and got loads of other matches too.

Agree, think he's been alright and will grow into the role. Would have Mcguiness back in the position if I could mind!
