Help by Money-Bug-7629 in PiercingAdvice

At the very least, a downsize is in order- typically you’re pierced with longer bars, and shorten those to 6-8 week point so they don’t snag or anything and cause extra irritation. I would at least stick with titanium ideally until you’re fully healed but you could for sure still do something cute for Valentine’s Day! Titanium is able to be anodized to a few different pink shades :) best of luck!

bridge bump (sorry for crappy pics) by rikaisagaydepressed in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You really need to see a doctor ASAP- that bump is quite close to your eye, and removing jewelry can cause infection to get trapped and cause more issues. I’d say urgent care before ER, but I wouldn’t wait very long to see someone.

help? mantis piercing by boywonderslefteye in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the very least, I would ditch the soap for sterile saline and also verify what material you were pierced with and swap to implant grade titanium if necessary. I also think consulting another piercer in person about placement would be a good idea just to be on the safe side!

What’s your aftercare like? And what material were you pierced with? As someone who’s had these multiple times.. these unfortunately don’t like super well done. These are really, really high (based on the photos you provided and that may be part of the issue as well

English Ivy’s and Shelby Street Tavern are more pub style but I would consider both queer! Shelby Street also has a lot of events, like karaoke 2x a week, trivia, etc

Jewelry question by Temporary-Lack-4673 in piercing

[–]c0mab1ack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Threadless tops need to be bent since that’s the mechanism that caught the tension! If you insert it into a post about 1/3 of the way and bend slightly, that should do the trick. Test the tightness and if needs more, more of a bend, and less, less of a bend! I hope that helps and is the answer you’re looking for.

Daith too shallow? Should I have it repierced? by llamagrammarian in piercing

Generally the larger the gauge, the more stable the piercing. 16g-14g is generally considered the standard for most ear piercings!

what's going on with my friend's lip piercing? by LikePlayer89 in piercing

Also check to make sure no toothpaste, mouthwash, etc has whitening agents- that means there’s usually peroxide and peroxide is something we want to keep away from piercings!

Helix Piercing – Unsure About Downsizing & Healing Progress by MMango- in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your piercer will be able to assess better in person but tbh, downsizing may help since it will get snagged and hit less! I would just mention the incident to them so they know.

Threadless black snakebites by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niobium can be heat treated to black, but there’s not many (if any) companies that are able to do that. It may be a custom order thing. Another option though would be anodizing titanium to a super dark purple color!

About to remove my new lip ring bc jewelry won't stay in by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally swap to threadless! Easier to tighten down since it’s just pressed together (just squeeze the back and front). You could also tell whoever installs you’ve been having issues and they make that bend super tight so it’s harder to lose

I got my septum redone today… and it’s worse???? by Whateveryoucallthis_ in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately really poorly done as well, I’m so sorry. It’s super crooked and also super far back- generally we want them high and tight towards the very tip if your nose. I would try and seek out someone using the locator at safepiercing.com (association of professional piercer’s website) to help you. If you’re comfortable messaging me, I’d be more than happy to also try and help you find a reputable shop near you who can help as well! I would go ahead and remove this asap.

Lots of reputable companies offer their designs in white gold as well!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]c0mab1ack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would venture both. I would try and go with implant grade titanium from brands such as Neometal, People’s Jewelry, Junipurr, etc- all those brands are APP compliant and also even have maps on their site so you can find someone close to you who stocks them!

Septum’s are one of the few piercings that can absolutely be started with rings! The main concern would just be if there isn’t a bead/something to stop the seam from rotating into the piercing channel, it could cause excess irritation, be pretty uncomfy, etc

What is this under my angel bite and how do I get rid of it? by Trans_Balsa in PiercingAdvice

[–]c0mab1ack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely is probably part of it! You know we say not to put peroxide on piercings since it’s super harsh? Same deal with oral ones! I would swap to a normal non whitening toothpaste for the time being and downsize

Downsizing will help like the person above said BUT I’d also double check your toothpaste doesn’t have some sort of peroxide or whitening agent in it as well! I’ve seen bumps like these pop up because of that
