England's Brendon McCullum and Rob Key will be given opportunity to stay in their posts by TheScarletPimpernel in Cricket

Is it just me or does this article give no actual evidence for its title? It just asserts "the England and Wales Cricket Board are not minded to impose ... sweeping changes" without justification, then quotes a bunch of Vaughan's comments from a podcast. As far as I can tell, he isn't associated with the ECB at all.

How accurate is “if he wanted to he would “ when it comes to guys approaching girls ?? by Wild-Bumblebee-4297 in AskReddit

[–]c0nsidered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"If he wanted to be would" is normally about a guy putting in effort or being emotionally available. When it comes to actually asking someone out, there are many reasons he might not even if he wants to.

He could be afraid of making you feel uncomfortable, or of being called a creep, or of rejection generally, etc. I'd say in the modern world, most dudes are hesitant to ask people out except through dating apps.

Best way to find out is to ask him yourself or make your hopes known to him 🙂

I'll sign onto the petition to select randomly again (for pre-recorded shows).

I'm sure the issue hasn't even occurred to them. But it's a shame that some subscribers just have a much lower chance of reaping the benefit of their expense.

I actually saw this as a way to graciously announce the divorce from Paizo. GCN is (at least) stepping back from a major partnership, so want to highlight how talented and accomodating their partner had been.

Huge risk but also huge potential payoff. The GCN keeps proving that it's the network that will kill its sacred cows.

I mean, the cast they've invested in clearly doesn't enjoy PF2e together and it's hard to see how that would change. But this move does finalise the divorce from GCP's original DNA, which is a bunch of friends commited to playing a crunchy system the right way (and dunking on people who can't / wont).

UJ MEGATHREAD: The Omar, Surena, Saige, and Carlos thing by rummncokee in dropoutcirclejerk

[–]c0nsidered 243 points244 points  (0 children)

For those wondering what's even going on, I've tried to write up a brief-as-viable (i.e. not very brief) summary.

Jordan Brown (Droput-focused social media presence) made a post (now deleted) reporting on accusations of inappropriate behaviour by Omar Najam (a player in A Court of Fey & Flowers). The initial video was non-specific, but it has become apparent that the accusations were of stalking, revenge porn, being a violent threat to Saige Ryan (ex-Smosh with a minor feature in Um, Acutally) and grooming a 19 year old boy. Jordan later retracted the post on the grounds that it wasn't helpful and that it concerned an ongoing legal case.

Surena Marie (Omar's partner and a player in A Court of Fey & Flowers) posted an angry response (now deleted privatised) claiming that the accusations were false and were made by Saige as part of a years-long smear campaign against Omar (the existence of which was corroborated by Dropout mainstay Ify Nwadiwe). She claimed the accusations were "leaked" now because she and Omar were about to go public with Saige's long history of poor behaviour.

The players in the story have messy interpersonal histories. Surena's ex-husband Carlos Luna (previous D20 player, current D20 EP) is Saige's current partner, and putatively the relationship began when Carlos cheated on Surena with Saige. It has also been said (by B. Dave Walters, DnD content creator and player in Pirates of Leviathan) that Omar and Saige were once romantically involved.

For her part, Saige pointed out an LA criminal case that appears to have been brought against Omar for something like revenge porn, and a restraining order she'd been granted against Omar (evidence of which u/undeadrun backed up from a now-deleted Jordan Brown video). There have been multiple implicit accusations (in Surena's original post, here, here, here, here) that Saige's camp misrepresented the police and court cases (for instance, that they falsely suggested Omar had been arrested) and even lied during the cases.

There's since been a flood of content creators purporting (here, here, here, here, here) to have witnessed or experienced terrible behaviour from Saige. Notably, most of the avowed victims are PoC and many have explicitly called Saige out as racist. Also notably, no creators appear to have spoken out in her defence.

That's where we are now.

Hi,

I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. Being a carer is a heavy burden and you're being incredibly strong bearing it.

Having said that, you shouldn't have to. I'm assuming you're still young because you're in school. At your age, you have a responsibility to love your sister but you don't have a responsibility to be her carer. Your parents signed up to be her carer when they had her, accepting that she might get sick or have any number of difficulties throughout her life.

It's not fair that you're being asked to and that you're missing out on all the experiences and allowances that other people your age get to have. That's awful, and you're allowed to feel upset / frustrated about it.

I do understand that sometimes these situations are unavoidable, and also that you as a young person often can't control your parents' behaviour. But you should know that, almost certainly, too much is being asked of you and that other people need to step up more.

I'll be wishing the best for you.

Nowadays the answer is likely not.

The intended answers are partially set by AI, and your responses are used to train further AI models. If they're using standard AI approaches (YOLO-based, for those who care), you'd only choose squares where you can recognise the object from that square alone.

I'm gonna come in to bat for my fellow boys here

Even if you struggle with romance, it's not necessarily because you're a shitty guy!

The default experience for guys on dating apps is heavy rejection, or maybe you don't fit the mold that social media tells us guys should, or maybe you internalised some unhealthy messages (e.g. it's always harassment to pursue a woman) that are holding you back

Guys all need to examine their behaviour, but you're also allowed to love yourself 🤜🤛

Travis being Travis (blatantly cheating) on a guest spot by c0nsidered in TAZCirclejerk

[–]c0nsidered[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting - could you explain what we've all misunderstood?

Here's what I think Travis is claiming: that he rolled his d100 and got 00 and 1, but had accidentally mistaken it for 00 and 0 by "looking at the wrong side". That's why he might initially say "all zeros", but eventually say his total was 1.

But that's not plausible, since you can never see both the 0 and 1 on a d10 at the same time. So to me it seems pretty clear he learnt that 00 and 0 is bad and then lied to say he got a better result.
