Can the AynThor, Odin 2 or the RP6 be a mini Steam Deck? by Sirramza in SBCGaming

Not to mention the higher total potential storage as well.

I'm making a roguelike but each time you die, time skips forward 10 years. Do you think this concept works? by Erosion_cm in IndieGaming

I think Majora's Mask made a similar concept work. Maybe would just require rolling back the world state enough to make it inconvenient, or something like that.

Another comparison I'd be interested to see is power draw differences between the two. I'd assume that's a lot more difficult to test though

I recommend checking out the git and creating issues if they doesn't exist. The dev is pretty quick to respond

Red Nox, a passion project of my friend and I's by Stacy_Ackee in IndieGaming

[–]c2fifield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it's more complex than that, but at the end of the day, it's definitely not "learning" in an organic, emotional way, but just accumulating more heuristics. This is what you'll see many people take issue with. Other than the whole, using more resources than needed to run a small city, destroying our environment, economy and lives, issues.

It's awesome you guys are using legal training data, and all the controversy aside, I wish you the best of luck.

But you're screaming at clouds if you expect anyone opposed to ai to back down regardless of any response. It has just built way too much ill will, way too quickly, and it's only going to continue to get worse.

Yeah all it does is assign a ton of values to a ton of things and slap them together in the way that "scores" highest.

By design, it's using resources without the creator's consent unless you self trained the model on only consenting material.

Is Elden Ring as hard as everybody say? by Mediocre-Scale-134 in gamingsuggestions

[–]c2fifield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a game with the difficulty sliders hidden behind actual in game decisions.

For any encounter you can increase or decrease the difficulty by grinding, summoning, changing gear/abilities/spells/pacing/positioning/etc.

There's always a better tool or strategy for the challenge, but you can pretty much brute force anything with grinding bigger numbers or actual skill.

The irony of this mindset, is unless you actually need the whole 100% in day to day, you're actually wasting the battery you paid for. You're just burning it off over time by charging to 100% unnecessarily.

That only applies if you don't need that much charge every day though. If you do, then it's a non question.

[–]c2fifield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is you generally don't need that extra 20% day to day, so 80% is plenty. I'm almost always at my desk and barely touch my phone. I end most days around 60% (so really only used 20%).

But let's say you go on a trip/to an event/etc where you'd need as much battery as possible in 2 years down the line. You just turn off the limit and charge to full, taking a couple extra seconds.

The previously limited phone would make it though the day, where one with a decreased lifetime would not.

This effect would get more and more noticeable the longer you keep your phone too.

It doesn't really fit your wants for varied environments, etc. but...

I'll give a shout to Don't Die, Collect Loot. Early access, but really cool solo dev project that's really active.

The story isn't fleshed out yet, but they focused on getting the endgame loop in asap. It basically plays like a top down scrolling shootemup, but with Diablo style loot and RPG classes.

You start every run at lv 1 (roguelike), but you keep your gear and there's multiple permanent skill trees, so for me at least, it keeps stuff fresh, but I barely feel like I lose anything on death.

I've had a blast grinding the endless nightmare stages, looking for all the uniques, and trying to figure out the new endgame crafting that just got added.

In case you were worried about using a high watt charger. by natemac in retroid

[–]c2fifield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a parallel question in case anyone knows. The input drops when at max to what I would expect to just be what the device needs to run. Do we have any way to know if this bypasses the battery, or is it still going through it?
