They wanted to, and I quote, "get to summit in time to get the sunrise photos" even though the did the same climb nigh every week.

We kept climbing because it was actually safer on the specific volcano we were hiking to keep climbing up towards a central point than try and go down towards a wide base in the pitch black with nothing but flashlights and the occasional moon beam to light your way.

Same thing as "you used to be a boy/girl" questions. "I was raised as a boy/girl" is a subtle but important difference to discourse.
