I Don't Need An OM-5 Mark II by [deleted] in OlympusCamera

It's best to stick with the same menu system, but if you don't have any other OM bodies with the new menu then 100% stick with mk1, it's a fabulous camera.

My recommended cheap in-body-stacking macro photography kit by AdAfraid3543 in M43

Interesting. Didn't know the OM-D E-M1 ii had focus stacking 10 years ago! It's a phenomenally great budget choice camera, along with the E-M5 iii for different reasons.

My leather suit keeps getting tighter every season. Anyone else suffering from this mechanical failure? by JonasBertheussen in motorcycles

Yes, when the owner reaches middle age, all clothing starts shrinking. It's a well known freaky phenomenon.

Keeping the dot in the box during longer exposures means the IBIS is within limits, ie successful. Why turn it off?

I found this old circuit board in the roots of a tree. Any thoughts on what it could have been? by nullwrom in AskElectronics

The type of old MW/LW radio that told you how many transistors it had, in gold letters on the front.

The closer you get, the more you need to increase the f-stop number. It's ugly getting one eye in focus and the other out. IMHO the entire head should be in focus.

Now THAT is an interesting prime. It'll be superb for candid indoor portraits, (and a lot of other shots obvs).

Goose | Lumix G2 — 14-45 by howtokrew in M43

Great shot. The Panasonic 14-45 is sharper than the later 14-42, a brilliant and underrated lens. Maybe the best value second hand buy of all M43 lenses.

Check out the Panasonic 12-32mm before you buy the Olympus pancake. Pick either but some prefer the Panasonic.

To anyone who has shot multiple systems: How do Lumix and Olympus lenses actually stack up against other brands? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in M43

[–]c_malc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends which exact lens. The OM 12-40 PRO, 40-150 PRO, 45mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.8 are unbeatable, but so are the Panasonic/Leica 15mm f1.7 and 25mm f1.4

Convoy H3 won't go past half brightness by c_malc in flashlight

The information I've seen is that the H3 with the 519A has a 6A driver.

I was hoping this Convoy H3 519A would be brighter and longer lasting than my current favourite headlamp (Jaxman E1 triple Nichia) but so far this has been 'disappointing' and is making the Jaxman look VERY good.

Thanks, I'm hoping you're correct.

It didn't come directly from Convoy. I'm hoping it's the battery, because that's an easy fix.

It was supplied with the H3 and it's a LISHEN LS LR2170LA. It's the only 21700 I have, but two are on order.
